Good Afternoon,

I'm hoping for a little guidance, I've had my Viper for 4 years now and a few months ago i'm sure I got on it a bit to hard and now I have what sounds like traction bar banging noise under coming from between the passenger seat and transmission only during heavy wheel slipping conditions. (I know it doesn't have traction bars...) I have had the car off the ground and removed the pan. I replaced the transmission mount because it looked a bit sloppy and have looked at everything. We looked at the half shafts and everything looks tight. So....I took it to the dealer and they said we can replace parts until we find what it is..... no thanks can you imagine the cost of that? lol

Any ideas?

Thanks for all your support.

sounds like some wheel hop going on, check all the bushings

Sounds like wheel hop. It's pretty common with these cars, and can cause serious damage if you keep doing it. The differential is a known weak point in the Gen 3 Vipers, and wheel hop is a pretty sure bet for how to kill one.

So I changed the Diff fluid and it was clean. The bushings don’t look bad but I think I’ll replace them anyway.

I had it up of the ground and had it running. Had a buddy of mine put it in gear and pop the clutch a few times with my hand on the diff. It feels like it’s where the noise is coming from when it moves up and down. I’ll replace the bushings and see how it goes.

It upper bushings look a little more difficult to change. Do anyone know if they have to be pressed in?

Thanks
