It's a 'plunge' for me because I told myself I would never sell this car - my kids even argue over who gets it when dad goes (wife tells them to dream on btw). I had an '05 Silver Mamba when wife and I were dating, and then purchased this '09 to make up for letting that '05 go. But times change. So it feels like a plunge if I go through with it.

I don’t think that will make a difference lol. GLWS though.

Ha ha, lol.

May I ask that Gen 5 snobs stay out of this thread? You won't find me over in those threads commenting on value. I would ask the same courtesy.

Shocked as some Gen 5 owners may find it, Gen 4 values are holding fairly strong (far better than Gen3), especially for low milage cars under 10K miles. Vipers were not built in convertibles after 2010, and this 1 of only 6 example in white is worth what I am asking.

(And the first Viper I owned was an '05 Silver Mamba, so I'm not new to Vipers.)

I would have to agree with Vipes on this one. I certainly hope you get what your asking for your car and I mean no disrespect to you by agreeing with Vipes.

I will add that if owning a GEN 5 somehow makes me a snob.

I can tell you I have been called a lot worse and I can only hope that by also owning a GEN 4 that somehow makes up for my snobbery.

I love your car more than just about any other.

However, I disagree on the value. I think it's worth about $60k, may be able to squeeze out more if you sit on it for a while. It's not worth more than ACRs.

No doubt you took out an ad and posted this thread specifically to have purchase disinterested parties opine on the "true" value of your Viper, ehh?

Here's the point - you don't crap on somebody else's sale listing within your own forum. That's a big no no. Lot's of other forums even post it in their rules. And it's just dumb - "Hey, let's talk down the value of each other's cars..." When prospective buyers may be checking these sites to learn more.

Nobody is a snob just because of what they own, Gen 4 or Gen 5. You're a snob if your car is newer and worth more, and then you post that somebody else's listing price is higher than you think it should be.

This is under 8K miles. ACRs with less than 10K miles are selling in the 80s. I'm asking $74K OBO. And there were only 6 Gen 4s ever in this color combo - only 30 total in white.

There are over 70 color combos in 2009 alone that they made less than 10 of, pretty much everything except red. I agree it's worth more than the few common combo's, like 09' red/no stripe or 08 black/no stripe but almost every gen IV combo can play the single digit card. Hopefully you get your asking price, definitely low miles.

Sorry if I ruffed your feathers and it's pretty common knowledge that 75k is GEN 5 territory or low mile GEN 4 ACR money.

I hope you get what your asking.

Are you trying to qualifying his statement? It is G4 ACR money. I am not taking a side as 1) I hope you get the asking price as it’s a cool car and 2) I hardly care as I’m not in the market. I will say I paid around what your asking for my G4 ACR one of like 5 1 year only ACR paint scheme with less than 10k miles and absolutely no molestation. Now that was a couple years ago so hopefully they are climbing and the non ACR cars are gaining serious traction.

Best of luck with the sale

I’ve owned 7 Vipers going back to 2004 and this thread (and the other with the Orange TA) are precisely why I have never listed them as for sale here, on the VCA forum or on the VOA Facebook page. Viper owners seem to revel in disparaging Viper values until they have one for sale.

There's some truth here. I am an active member on several forums ranging from motorcycles, Jeep, Porsche, and trucks. This one sure is critical of the least "miss-step" or differing opinion. Maybe that is what makes this forum so valuable and at the same time why many folks don't participate fully IMO.

Yes, and all the 'experts' here will be so busy talking about what values have been ...that they will miss when values start to move back up - as I believe they are now for Gen 4 cars with very low miles. And this is just February - by April or May, bidding for roadsters, at least, will be peaking.

White with blue stripes is an AWESOME combo! I'd "argue" too with my "sibs" over who would get Dads Viper! Definitely a "keeper" if all the variables aligned! It's worth every penny IMO!

It's possibly because this is a discussion forum and there is a dedicated section to classifieds. Other forums generally have a for sale section in forum format, but people don't comment on values because it is a dedicated for sale section.

It it pretty well established that these Viper forums are more negative about the value on our cars than other car forums. For some strange reason, its like people like to discount other people cars when they are trying to sell. This rather than supporting and encouraging higher prices. Owners as a group should be happy about values going up, asking prices increasing and the fact that there are some that wont give their cars away to low ballers but stand firm and wait for the right buyer

These cars as we know them will never be produced again. Its time we appreciate this fact and recognize how unique and rare these cars really are

How many cars like OP's are currently listed for sale nationally ? OK then......it's not like you have any choice but to pay the price if this is the combination you want. Maybe it will be 5K more in a year

Very good point here. Many forums have a For Sale/Wanted thread complimented with a Market Watch thread or something similar. Maybe the VOA & Moderators would give this a thought???

I agree with Creatre 100%.

If you make a for sale post on a public forum is that hard to understand that you will get some feed back.

If you post it in the classifieds no feed back.

Vipermann isn't even a member here so he isn't even willing to support this site. Yet in his 3rd post in this thread he starts calling members that do support this site "Snobs"

What's with all the thin skin around here. Someone makes a post trying to sell a vert in the middle of winter at a price that is clearly 15k over what cars like his are selling for and gets bend when someone comments about it. He was even wished will in his endeavor to sell his car by those that commented.

I'm trying to see where he asked anyone for feedback about his pricing. He simply paid for an ad in the classifieds and made a post to note it. He's a fellow Viper owner and doesn't need people posting in his thread their opinion about how they feel he's overpriced it. What part is hard to understand? Impossible as it may seem you could just say good luck and keep your opinion to yourself.

I don’t think that’s the point. It’s all the negative feedback in regards to pricing. Constant postings on what other people’s cars are worth.

Sorry I stirred things up guys. We all know what a killer value the Viper always has been new - so even used, it's hard to imagine any Viper being over priced for what you get. And also rare on top of that.

V10, 600HP and side pipes - and everyone still stares at any Viper.

You are assuming too much sir.

I have been a member of VOA for several years, and also was over on the VCA since 2005, but I did not renew my membership (so they changed my designation from member) this year because I am selling the car. Would you have paid to stay a member even though you were selling your Viper?
