Show me your battery tender hook up please

Hi all, I wanted to hook up a battery tender to the ACR, the piggy tail quick disconnect type at the rear of the car, so I don't have to keep the hood open. Do you guys have that in the trunk area or under the car, any pics will be appreciated!

I have mine accessible from the rear bumper opening , unfortunately no pics.

Mine is located above the difuser panel velcroed to it, just behind the seat panel. the cord is pigtailed thru a round opening in the frame where I plug it in to an extension cord.

Mine is clipped to the battery post under the hood driver side with the ground on the closest bolt. I run the tender JR lead through the grill. Sorry don’t have access for a picture right now, but maybe later.

I drive into my garage and all the power outlets for the charger are on the inside wall so I like this setup better. Also, if I forget to unplug, it unplugs itself as I back out of the garage.

Sometimes simple is all you need. When not in use (e.g. when driving), it tucks quite nicely into the rear bumper.

I believe Doug Shelby makes a nice one for Gen 3/4 out the back of the car that should work for a Gen 5, but Doug also makes a Gen 5 specific battery tender connection that connects at the drivers side vent under the hood.

I previously just had the battery tender leads hooked up direct. When I replaced my battery last year went with the DSE cover and tender hook up. Very effective solution. Now I can also easily access the battery top for cleaning via the quick turn fasteners on the DSE cover. When you do this or perform maintenance in this area (disconnecting the battery) I would recommend taking the ground off of the frame and cleaning the contact point. Corrosion can build up in this area especially over time.

for a Gen two, just plug it into the cigarette lighter outlet, its live all the time.

Same as Steve M. Also, somewhat related...why do the Gen3/4's have a low draw and seem to weaken even over a couple weeks?

I don't know why they have a large key-off battery drain, but they all seem to suffer from the same thing. Just one of those quirks I guess.

Like him. Did that on my Gen 3&4 cars, worked great and easy to get to (nothing to open/unlock) and not visible.
