View Full Version : Who is running mud flaps on their genIII/IV
Hi all, who is running "mud flaps", for lack of a better term, on their genIII/IV? I would like to prevent stone chips on the lower extremities of my '08 ACR, but don't want that "Keep on Trukin'" look, lol. So I'm looking for opinions/pics/suppliers/cost, and are there drill, no-drill options?
Thanks!

I use front and rear stone guards on our 03, 08, and 10. They are the carbon fiber ones from JonB at Parts Rack.
On the 14, I use the much smaller version (front and rear) also from JonB. Doug Shelby sells a similar type. So far, all seem to be working well.

I made my own for less than $30 in material and contoured to the body using existing factory holes . Barely noticeable and effective . Also used 3m on body panels.

Where can I get some of those chrome striper chicks just like the big rigs have. Only they need to be really, really tiny?
I'm joking.
commandomatt your car looks great. Is that stock GEN 4 paint color?

I made my own back in 2003 before anyone sold any and have used them ever since. Smaller than the purchased ones and made from clear Lexan so they are not very visible.
For the Gen V I have the purchased ones and am happy with them for the front and made my own for the rear.

I can't stand them. I think they look like this:

In my opinion, doing a high quality wrap is a MUCH better choice.

I have them on my 08 from Viper Specialty and think they are barely visible, especially on my black car.

Thanks....color is Toxic Orange with Gunmetal stripes. I believe there were 2 cars made in 2010 in this color combo. 1 vert and my ACR

Same here. Call Dan as a possible "stealthy" alternative to JonB's excellent CF version.

I have sets from two different forum vendors and I honestly don’t like either. I will be making my own set when it gets warmer. They are both better than nothing but I think I would be happier with something different.

Viper specialty ones, as others stated barely noticeable and they perform very well with no rock chips on my side sills or behind rear tires.

I use the Viper Speciality Performance front and rear stone guards. Honestly, I can't stand the others...they are too big and bulky and stick out a lot more. The ones I run cost a lot less and you can barely tell they are on the car...and still offer total protection.

Here is a pic of the front. The back is just as low profile.

Do you have a picture of the rear? Parts Rack only has a pic of the front. Thanks.

I'd just use clearbra there and change out every 2-3 years or as soon as it starts to show wear.

Who are you asking?

Viper Specialty's for me as well.
I got a set from Jon B for my 2006. They have been on for 10+ years. No stone chips at all on the rockers. Very satisfied. They are carbon fiber and really look factory installed. (well they should have been)
