I have inspection coming up and if anybody has some corsa tires laying around that you will not use, I’ll take them off of your hands!

You should buy something else. The Corsas suck.

I think one of the hardest thing to get advice on in this forum is tires. Even on the street/ track you can’t get a solid one or the other... I know people that swear by CORSA’s and others that just swear at them:)

I have seen a set shread the tread in 2 20minute session and I have seen a set last 2 seasons. I think it’s all about what you’re doing or maybe there is a consistency issue with the tires.

Moral to the story if you like them and have good results then stick with them. If not then consider swapping them out, but take the advice here with a grain of salt or do a lot of thread searching and pick the best tire. I have the non corsa p-zeros for street and R7s for track days. My friends with ACRs use the Michelins for the street and also R7s for the track. One just switched from CORSA’s only because they couldn’t get the fronts this summer. He had great luck with the CORSA’s until Hastings, but that track eats tires anyways so don’t bang the CORSA’s for dying there. (I tore up my front R7s on day 1 along with a lot of people)

I just want these tires to pass inspection.

The corsa tires actually grip real well on track. They get really soft and of you are a smooth driver on a smoother track, they are just fine. Are they R7’s? No.

For a spirited driving run, are they capable? Yes, they are. I have about 30 hours of track time on corsa tires and they are just fine. I’m not Lewis Hamilton, but on a lapping day, there’s nobody usually faster me on the track with these shitty tires.

You must have never tried PSS or P Zeros? You will think the Corsas are amazing compared to those.

Which Michelin tire is closest to the PZero Corsa and comes in our size?

A few track friends have ACR-E's and I think one of their favorite track tires is the Corsa that I run and they wish they could ;)

I also have a friend that wasn't impressed with the Corsa on his TA but he experienced lots of under-steer on corner entry which overheats the tire's edges causing delamination and shears off the tread. Driving style, bad alignment, wrong pressures, defective tires???

I plant the fronts at turn-in with a slow in fast out style that is fastest in this car. I also start the day running the full 29 psi cold pressures, bring the tires up to temp each session slowly to avoid shocking the tire, and come in mid-session to bleed down to 34f/32r hot pressures. Been through numerous sets of fronts doing that and every one has performed and lasted extremely well. Our typical track day ranges from around 75F to 90F although it was about 100F in the shade at VIR once. The tires and the rest of the car were good at that temp, many others were done from their cars overheating, and I became light headed and skipped the last two sessions. So the Corsa's and the car were rock stars and tougher than me...that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Sometimes you can't blame the tires.

Varying results with Corsas might be which track guys run them on as well? I find our really tight track eats the Corsa fronts once their warm/soft. We do 30 minute sessions, and I get really hard on front tires after about 15 minutes.

At first I thought it was my driving style, but our local hot shoe kills his off faster than mine on the same track.

Good post Bruce and I concur with your findings . After having my car corner balanced and alignment to my driving style the Corsa's are a great choice for street /Track use IMO .

I have tried all of them. On my ACR-E I will use Kuhmos or Hoosiers or Michelins. For One Lap of America I must run non-R compound tires so I am limited to PZeros or Michelins. Of course you can't get the PZeros anymore and I waaaaay prefer the Michelins. PS2s in 295/30/18 in front and PSS in 345/30/19 in rear. Yea the mixed tires don't cause any issue and they wear well and are better in the wet that the PZeros. The Corsas are good for a short time on track and then they go and when they go they chunk and cord fast.

Track layout and pavement condition are absolutely other factors. You just reminded me of a country club style track with 20 corners called Calabogie that I ran one day on a full set of new Corsa's. Both left side tires wore out in one day instead of the fronts lasting 5-6 and the rears more like 8. Same day two others experienced the same with Pilot Sport Cups on a GT3 and Cups or Super Sports on a C7 Vette. I vowed to never go back. Other tracks I run are mostly high speed with 10-14 corners and easier on tires.

Your example is exactly right. Which is probably why there are so many different assessments of a tires performance.

Our tight little track is probably similar to the one you mentioned. Hustling through the backfield the car is always in transition. Hard on rubber for sure.

for the street I'm a big fan.. 15,000miles out of my last set daily driving... No overt abuse/long burnouts obviously.
