transmission replacement

So the car is running great but the transmission is just not holding together. I am thinking of getting the magnum t56. Just curious if I can just swap tailhousings and purchase the 31 spline yoke? Only reason for swapping tailhousing is the speedo hole is already there and I already have a hurst shifter so not looking to buy another one. I am not really looking to pick up a used tr6060 because it is just that, used and the price is no different. Just looking for input.
