Hello everyone,

I'm going to have my rear underbody panel replaced.
Please see image.

Have any of you ever done this?
Is it difficult and or is there anything that i should look out for when removing or installing.

It stinks i have to remove the rear bumper just to replace the underpanel.

I guess its because of those nine fasteners that are somewhat hidden from view until the rear bumper comes off...

A second person would be nice, because the rear bumper cover is floppy and awkward to remove by yourself.

If you have the carbon tail lamp surround, it's super brittle and the retaining tabs that hold it to the car are easy to break. I left it attached to the bumper cover and removed the whole thing at once.

There's two body electrical plugs on the passenger side you need to unplug once the rear fender liners are out.

The back-up lights come with a new tail pan, so leave them alone.

Have a nice and soft place to set the whole bit once its off the car, so you can mess around with all those hidden fasteners. Otherwise, you'll definitely scratch the paint. As soon as those fasteners are removed, the bumper cover will flop over. You'll want extra hands.

In the trunk, only the plastic wingnuts near the taillights need removed. There's a pair of Torx screws on both sides farther in, under the carpet, that do not have to be removed. They only the mounting brackets for the rear bumper cover on both sides. Leave them be.

That's about it, I think.
