As a new member of the VOA of the Carolina’s I would like to show you all a great ride right in our back yard. Maybe this year or next we could include this ride with the visit to the Biltmore House. There’s a nice place to eat and stay called “The Chalet” https://switzerlandinn.com/chalet.html. Never spent the night as it’s a short drive from the house, but the food and atmosphere is really great.

Attached is a map of the area the area they call the “Diamondback”. If you take the Parkway from Asheville to this location it will take about 3 hrs…if drive east on I-40 then to Hwy 70 it take about an 90 minutes. Just an idea for sometime in the future.

If you read my post on “36 hr Viper Owner” the mechanic who totaled our first Viper was on a small section of the road called “Turkey Straight”. Its located on the right side of the map about 2/3 up near the top.

Looks like a fun addition to the biltmore weekend, or maybe even a whole different weekend drive!!!

I like this as a whole other weekend idea!

Heck even if we couldn't get it together as an official Carolinas VOA event, there's nothing to say a few of us couldn't get together and go..
