Gen III

So i have a 2003 Dodge Viper and im looking at exhaust options. Have been looking at headers and removing the cross over tube and the cats and leaving the stock mufflers. Any issues doing this?
Also I have been looking at M&M headers. are those the best options for everything including cost?
Lots of people say go corsa but lots of people say they are stupid loud.
Are there better options?

Louder the better in my opinion!

In my 50 yrs of car ownership headers have more often than not we’re a pain in the ass. Burning and melting components, exhaust leaks and cracked welds when I had my Gen3 I was more than satisfied with with the stock manifolds, single hi flow cats, Belanger mufflers. Got rid of the crossover. Sound was better, greatly reduced heat in the side sills. Zero problems for the three years that I had the car.

M&M Headers, (The gen 3 manifolds will crack up. Have changed many broken sets.) Gen 4 muffs = nice setup. :)

I retained the stock headers, had a custom exhaust made from the header back, eliminated the crossover and used MagnaFlow mufflers. Sounds great, reduced the heat, and very inexpensive.

Best exhaust is ARH 5-1, cat-delete and stock cat-back with a ROE710R cam. For the record...stock cat-back is making 850rwhp mellow deep tone and zero drone.

I ran Belanger headers connected to a custom 3” stainless setup with high flow cats and magnaflow mufflers. Loved the sound. I’m not a big fan of the raspy cat less sound.

I have American Racing headers and a Corsa catback on mine. I love the sound. It is very loud though if that isn't your thing.

Old thread, but I’ll put it out there that I can build anything you could draw up... I most certainly wouldn’t suggest going through the hell of pulling gen 3 manifolds to install stock gen 4 manifolds though. lol
