View Full Version : Gen V exhaust cutouts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k00j91jg6sk
Video for reference, from Nth moto.
Has anyone put cutouts on their cars yet? City is testing for noise(photo radar style) and possibly implementing a ticket system based on your vehicles noise. Planning on doing a stock muffler/vibrant resonator and a set of cutouts from the front, but wondering if anyone else has any insight into this setup. Car currently has a belanger setup thats obscenely loud.

I would be interested in learning more as well
Someone posted on doing this a while ago. I was pretty interested until I read, "the fumes were overwhelming, especially in traffic"

This is more of a while moving/track only thing, perhaps might hook it up to a rpm activated window switch.

if anyone else remembers, correct me if i'm wrong but 'KB Viper' had posted something like this, where he had an opening cut-out in his exhaust underneath the sill, where he could let a lot more exhaust escape faster, I believe done at nth moto along with engine work. Maybe he'll chime in, but he had a video and that car was a beast and sounded absolutely amazing

Cutouts 100% do not work on these cars. This is due to a tight side sill area and an extremely fast radius bend needed to turn the corner to head to the muffler. This causes the cutout to be very close to the motor and when in this location inside the side sill heat and pressure mount and cause failure. I went through 3 sets of cutouts in approx 4 months and the last set were "built" cutouts and they still didn't last. That's all I have to say about that...
