Hi guys,

I'm really new to Vipers and I tried to read other threads but did not found the answer I was looking for. So, I just bought this 2016 SRT Viper TT from Calvo Motorsports about two months ago. I'm not planning on taking the car to the track. Only 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and role race events. I do use the car 2 or 3 times a week and spirited driving on the weekends. Since I don't know much about Vipers or probably almost anything yet LOL, I want to make sure this car stops and have the brakes it needs in the events and on the street for this amount of HP. Cars aero and wheels still SRT stock except from Toyo R888R tires.

What upgrades do you guys recommend if any?
Bigger lighter rotors?
Better pads?
SS brake lines?
Brake Fluid?
Big Brake kit?

Any help and tutorial will be appreciated. THANKS in advance.

Give Andy a call at viper exchange. I have the big brake kit that they offer on my NTH Moto TT car. These brakes are awesome and they really look badass too.

If you are wanting something lighter and better you can read up here. Not just a factory option but Racing Brake chimed in quite a bit here. They have some great options as well.

If you have the 2 piece stoptechs (IE anything better than the one piece on base cars) IMO you’re fine. The amount of heat you’ll generate braking during 1/4 and 1/2 mile racing events is nothing compared to the torture on brakes from road racing.

For 1/4 and 1/2 events, you won't need anything more than the standard calipers. They provide plenty of stopping power and are used by many for road racing. I would only upgrade to the 2 piece Stop Tech rotors that came standard on the GTS after 2014 and is an option for SRTs. These rotors are lighter than the solid rotors on the base SRT and slotted.

thanks for the responses guys. How do I know which rotors does the car has? I think this car is an SRT Track Pack but I'm not sure.

The Track Pack came with the two piece stop tech rotors. Post a pic and I'm sure someone will know.

Los discos de 2 piezas son los qur tienen los "slots" y los tornillos que aguantan el disco, los mas pesados y " baratos " son discos de una pieza ( como en carros normales), SO people will understand the 2 piece have the screws hlding the rotor and "hat, the "cheap" ones are just one piece like the ones you would see in a " regular car, eg . camry, v6 challenger, cheap Camaro, etc. (I'm from PR too), message me if you need anything , Ive had 3 of these and know something about them ;)
