I've been on the fence myself and just noticed the last day to sign up is August 28th. I may need to leave later on Friday out of Phoenix if anyone else has a conflict that day.
Here's the details in case you missed it:
To book your rooms, please call the London Bridge Resort at 928-855-0888. They can only hold the rooms until August 28th, so please book early. Tell them you are with The Arizona Viper Club to get the discounted rate of $186.00 which includes their great breakfast and Wi-FI.
We will depart on Friday morning, Sept 28. (Time and place TBD). Heading north through Prescott and Chino Valley to Enjoy cruising Route 66, visiting the Route 66 Museum Kingman, and stopping for lunch at Mr D’z Route 66 Diner, across from the museum, lunch and museum is included. The road will offer some GREAT opportunities for photos. Officially, it has been designated as Route 66 for almost 100 years and played an important role in the development of the southwest. We will arrive in Lake Havasu in time for dinner. We were fortunate to get the London Bridge Resort to block off rooms for us at a discount with breakfast and Wi-Fi included. Aside from being right on the water, it also has views of the Original London Bridge that spanned the River Thames from the 1830s until it was moved to Lake Havasu brick by brick, in 1967.
Saturday we will have a day cruise to the historic mining town of Oatman, Arizona which dates back to the 1800s and was the spot of a 10 million dollar gold claim in 1915, and continues to be a tourist destination. Arizona Highways has listed it as one of their "Must See" Small Towns. For those of you who have them, this is a great town to wear your cowboy boots and hat and take in the feel of an Arizona mining town on Route 66. We will return to Havasu with enough time for you to enjoy some of the many things to do within walking distance. You can shop, walk around the River walk, take the bridge over to the island (the bridge is pretty much connected to the hotel), or maybe even hit a few balls at the attached 9 hole course before our private boat tour. We will have dinner together afterwards.
After dinner, you can hang by the pool, have some cocktails at the bar in the resort, or there are a number of places within walking distance if you want to experience a little night life.
Sunday we will head home through Parker Dam.
