View Full Version : How to read Mileage amp VIN off a DRBIII
I've now finally tracked down a DRBIII. Borrowed from a fellow UK GTS owner. His is a 97 Blue and White though; the software says 94-96 and the hardware has 98 written on the 1 paperwork sheet with the device.... I've tried most of the menu options while plugged into my 2000 - so far no sign of mileage & VIN. Has anyone much experience of DRB use and can advise please (or unlikely without yr2000 software?)?
Try this user manual.

Does the DRB III you are using have a SuperCard 2 plugged into the base?
If so, after multiple steps, you can read/verify the VIN.
Remember...the DRB III is S L O W ...especially compared to a wiTECH 1.0 or the current wiTECH 2.0.
For what it is worth, I just read the VIN on our 01.
I have no comment on the mileage.

PS78, if you get stuck, send your mobile number to me and I will give you a call and try to walk you through it live in regards to VIN.

I presume that you have found the answers to your own questions...I hope that the info was not too alarming.
Hey AViP& Steve - many thanks for your help! No,I haven't been back home til today Steve, so time to get on this weekend. Feedback coming soon as...
:orange:
VIN located!...and matches windscreen column VIN badge, phew! Mileage/odometer has very little mention in the DRB and the user manual link above (mainly mentioned in relation to mileage recorded since DTC). It's in the PCM somewhere as it was read by a local Dodge dealership 5 years ago ....no dealerships remaining in UK now :-( (Chrysler gone too). Search goes on (i've tried just about all the options in the DRB unit). Maybe i need the post-1999 reader card (yes, currently using SuperCard 2, Steve), but i think mileage data would be a generic staright-forward item to read - process surely not changing much across all gen2 year models? ...certainly worked for the VIN

Glad to hear your VIN matched !!
Cheers Steve!...reassuring when it's a modded track & road race car. Really i was fobbed off at the orignal purchase by Dan Cragin DC Motorsport: Car sold with 1050miles on the odo(!...shoulda thought too good to be true...)...got it imported only to find odo didn't turn!.. got pcm read soon after at Dodge, Poole, uk: 16000miles...! Reason given: oh PCM probably wasn't original one for that car/ odo gets disconnected cuz race cars use 'hours-of-use' (bs?!)/ pcms can be 're-flashed/written/etc.....nothing's proveable.

This might help...but don't count on it:

And, as I understand it, different generations act differently.
