I'm looking into this for a friend who's looking to get back into a Viper.
Looks like it needs a good detailing, but other than that, does anyone know any history about this car?

VIN 1B3JZ69Z79V500463, $46,474 listed.

The CarFax tells quite a story. https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=DEY_0&vin=1B3JZ69Z79V500463
Bought and sold a couple times. Hit a fence with the rear and was repaired, and seemingly may not pass emissions, but for the right price...

Err, I'd pass. $46k is a good deal for a clean title Gen IV, but still has been in an accident and looks like it's had a hard life. I'd recommend a clean well maintained gen III for that price point.

Needs to be a LOT cheaper

You need to find out about why it will not pass emissions. The accident doesn't sound too bad but more details would be beneficial. If you could have someone else do a PPI and the car checks out, offer him 40K. Wouldn't be a bad pickup for a Gen IV even with it hitting a fence.
I will say that, the color combo is hideous. That and your friend can find a nice Gen IV vert for close to 46k...with a clean history.

I personally think this is a pretty decent deal, if the damage was minor. and that black looks like vinyl that could be removed.

Depending on the accident details, and title. If it is clean and the frame looks good, that is a good deal. You're talking about a Gen 4, 600HP and in reality that is low. They tend to dyno 550-560 stock. $46K is a good deal if it checks out.

If it has the mopar/venom/arrow controller (whatever it’s called for the Gen 4) then it won’t pass emissions. If it has headers or is catless it almost certainly has the controller.

I don't know what kind of Dyno you have used in the past but I have never seen a GenIV make anywhere close to those numbers stock. I have seen one make 529 but that was on a Dynojet which seemed to provide favorable numbers.

Would not touch that car with a ten foot pole. Did you look at the carfax. That thing has been all over the place in terms of auctions/owners/accidents, etc. Plenty of others, tell your friend to keep looking.

That is my old car. That thing is a absolute beast. I drove it for three years straight as a daily driver. Ran it at the track and ran a best time 10.9 @ 131. With a 2.0 60' on kumhos. There was still some room for improvement. It is a 1 off color, they only made 1 all yellow with the strip delete. It dynoed 610 hp on a dyno jet on.a 100 deg. day. It has gen 5 intake, belanger headers and exhaust, hp tune, k&n drop in filter. That is a good deal for that car. Its a viper not a vette. It loved to be driven. I was the 3rd owner I never had an accident in it but the previous owner did. As far as i know it was a little finder bender. If you want a real raw street pounder this is it.

The 131 trap speed is the real indication

Mike, someone must have inflated some dyno numbers. A Gen IV Viper will not dyno that high stock unless we are talking about some STD numbers that were manipulated.

Oh I'm not doubting your numbers bro. Your trap speed shows what kind of power your car is making. I just haven't seen a bone stock Gen IV over 550whp. My guess is, those are STD numbers at the very least. Most I have seen are in the 530-540whp range SAE.

The yellow one in question , is not stock. Just trying to give some insight on the car.

I know your car isn't stock. Like I previously said, I have not seen any bone stock Gen IV cars dyno 550-560whp SAE Corrected, on a Dynojet. Not sure why you keep thinking otherwise. I am simply refuting the other guys comment...nothing more. Relax.
