Hi all,

I was back at Pocono this past weekend on the 3.5 mile Mega layout. Since last year I changed from 295/30/18 and 355/30/19 Pirelli Corsas to 315/30/18 and 345/30/19 Hoosier R7s. I also swapped the Motul RBF 600 brake fluid for Castrol SRF React fluid. This was the first time out in the car this season and the difference was drastic, even without having the setup finalized. I was able to cut 7 seconds off my best time from last season and there's plenty more on the table. With these two changes the car is so much more fun and feels as though it should have come this way haha. Copied below are videos of my quickest lap as well as a quick run around the full tri-oval with another ACR.

Nice!!! Tires prob helped shave 4 seconds, feel/confidence of tires and brakes got you the other 3 seconds!

Some good saves in the Mega setup. Do you drive or trailer to the track? Recall how many laps it took to get the R7 up to temp?

I trailer for a few reasons but mainly because I want to show up for tech at 7:00 am with the car already lowered, wheels swapped, pads swapped etc rather than still having to do all that work.

On that layout the tires were good to go after just a single lap, at my pace anyway. I actually ran some of my best sectors which weren't on my best lap (due to traffic) on the first hot lap.

Can't get the videos up , but good improvement. She has it in her and the Hoosiers were likely good for most of the improvement!? Not sure the Castrol is necessary , but it is killer stuff. When was the last time you changed pads as the faster you go the quicker you run through those things!?

Bill, here's the direct link: https://youtu.be/LAd9dbBPq6E

The pedal always felt a little softer than I like with the Motul after 10-15 minutes since I over brake the car, but was noticeably more consistent with the SRF so I'll stick with it.

I don't have the log book with me but these pads have a few events on them. I've been trying different compounds along the way. Unfortunately on of the left front caliper pistons seems to have an issue and tappered the inboard pad as a result so it's time for a new set. I was running XP24 up front but may go back to the 12s like you had it.

I am using G Locs now , as we are good friends with Danny Puskar ( he and his brother left Carbotech and they make a very similar pad ). I always liked the softer 12s , as I enjoyed the pedal feel , though they wear out faster. The pedals do get a bit soft on ACRs , but then they rarely get any worse, but the SRF will probably give you a more consistent feel if that makes you comfortable.

Pistons could be getting tired , as it is a 10 year old car now ----- no surprise at this time and usage.

Maybe I'll have to get contact info from you to try a set of their pads.

Great videos! I was able to shave off 6 seconds from my lap times when I switched over to the r7s. I’m running an 09 acr . What data/ video system are u running and who installed it? Are u happy with it?

Nice! The data/video is pretty simple and I just pieced it together myself. Old go pro HD, race Chrono pro app, blutooth obd-II and GPS. Race Chrono connects to the blutooth devices and I splice the data to the video with Dashware. Works really well without spending a fortune.

Nice video
How did it feel when the Hoosiers let go? How abrupt was the loss of traction and how predictable was it vs street tires?
Thanks

To me it felt more manageable and fun than the Corsas. It seemed well communicated and was obvious that I have more work to do at the rear of the car.

Great vids! And cool video overlay! Man that track has a lot of concrete wall!!
Hoosiers= Purple Crack lol. Get ready to be addicted to buying new tires! And yeah SRF blows Motul away in ever way and will last at least twice as long between bleedings so ends up being cheaper despite people thinking SRF is too expensive.

Thank you! Found the overlay on YouTube and modified it as necessary with Dashware.

Yeah that wall is intimidating.
