View Full Version : Rattle behind unconnect

Got a loud rattle coming right behind the Uconnect screen, or maybe just below it. I’ve got the knee rest removed on both side and the glove box removed but I can’t see how to access the back tighten whatever is loose. Anyone have some insight on this or experienced the same rattle?

Mine rattles in the same area but it’s the button on the parking brake handle.

I have this and its not the parking brake button. Did you ever get it fixed?

Are you guys sure it’s from that area and not coming the the center dash trim area ?

I got this far and couldn't figure it out. I just gave up and deal w/it at this point.

Wow you had everything off, did you add any type of sounding? Did you still have the rattle once you installed everything?

There's not much that can rattle back there. If anything, I would think it's coming from the top dash vent/speaker. Possibly something fell in there causing the rattle?

Rattle is definitely still there. At the time of that picture, I had my brother drive around the car like that and I kept trying to grasp where it was coming from as the rattle happens when the car is out of idle and has some sort of throttle on it but no matter what I couldn't figure it out. What BSLSK said may be right, but that was a lot of work and at this point, I'm used to it.


Wow you had everything off, did you add any type of sounding? Did you still have the rattle once you installed everything?

mine does it when it is rolling...has nothing to do with engine speed. I'm picking up a vibration from the wheels and its rattling something in there. I've tried touching every possible surface on the outside with no change. Also both of my doors have a buzz from heavy bass in songs.

I have thus buzzing rattle too. Something is definitely back there but I don’t really notice it much when I’m driving. I always thought it was under the front vent/speaker area at the front of the dash. Might be good to make sure each piece plastic interface that isn’t secured tightly has some kind of dampening.

Sounds like we all have the same sound we think is coming form the center speaker area . How’s anyone fixed this ?

Take rhe dash out? Doesnt it come out as one piece?
