Looking into ODB and CAN protocol scanners. Upgraded my iPhone recently and now my KIWI3 won't connect via bluetooth, felt it was time to start looking for other option.
Used Rosstech VAGCOMM for my other cars and found the logging feature to handy on a few occasions.

Saw the #EB-1000-688BG from the viperstore, seems like a low cost unit for a quick read. Not sure how much more it offers versus using the on-board diagnostic scan.
Anyone try the HPTuners MPVI2 with the VCM Scanner and can offer some feedback? My primary use is to have it on track should the need arise and normally have my laptop with me.

HPT scanner has not worked on the G5, unless that has changed.

Thank you for the responses. Need to revisit if I really need the logging function.

The scanner only works after the first flash - that first write to the PCM installs a custom OS that allows you to use the HPT Scanner.

Also keep in mind that the PCM is pretty chatty for the first minute or so after you turn the car to the on position - if you try to connect/scan/write to the PCM during that time, it won't let you. You just have to let it finish doing its thing before it finally shuts up and is willing to listen to what you have to say.

I ordered the Autel MaxiDiag MD805 All Systems from Amazon and give it a try.
