I am hoping someone would be able to give me the parts number for the black fuel door that would fit my 2014 TA. It has been harder to find than I thought, any recommendations on suppliers would also be appreciated
Thanks
Dennis

You gonna come put it on too! :) NO WAY i'd pay 1K or even half that for a Black/powdered coated gas cap! JS

The new cap looks fantastic! This should have been original from the factory the chrome cap really looked out of place

How hard is it to swap?

I consider myself fairly mechanical and the most challenge part was getting the plastic inner part with the gasket into the mounted fuel door. Here is the link to change it but let me add a few things. Jack the car up from the frame and remove the rear tire, pull out the torc screws from the wheel liner and pull it back enough to access the interior. Remove the front top nut and the two bottom ones then wiggle the inner neck from the door frame to access the top rear nut. I assembled it back in the same order. I disconnected the two hoses from the inner neck so once I got the gasket started I was able to spin the whole inner assembly to get the gasket on. I did try using a blunt screwdriver on the gasket however the potential for disaster with one slip of the screwdriver would really cause some damage to the power coating and or the paint. If you are going to try the screwdriver I would tape up the area with 2 layers of blue painters tape. Hope some of this makes sense ,if not it probably will once you have your head in the wheel well!
Like everything like this it took me 2 hours to complete the whole job (I had to walk away for a bit because of the gasket) but if I had to do it again is would be half that time

Here is the picture of fender, fuel door assembly and the inner plastic part with gasket. This may make more sense of how the neck is held into the door frame343133431434315

It's quite the pain in the ass! The hardest part as mentioned was the rubber gasket. It almost made me quit twice. lol
Getting it out was not as bad as getting it back in for me. This took the most time. I also had to cut a wrench in half with my dremel to get that upper nut. Once I gave up trying without using a cut wrench, that took 1 minute.

I got mine from Ben (BJG32). Quality work once again and a great guy to work with. It looks a million times better than the chrome one. It "disappears" now with the black paint on my black car vs. standing out like a sore thumb.

Using Ben the cap cost $125 to get powder coated, he sends out a completed cap and you send your chrome one back to him. He can also do custom painted “Viper” letters to match your paint color
I got the top rear nut out using a 10 mm nut driver, once you separate the inner neck from the fuel door assembly it was not that difficult to access

Thanks Hawk, this is what I was wanting to do but was a lil' concerned how difficult it was to take off the OEM one!
