Just bought a 2003 Viper a couple weeks ago and got caught out in the rain today. Went to turn on the wipers and nothing happened. Tried all different positions and spray option. Nothing worked. Looked through the manual and been searching threads/google for answers but not coming up with much. I checked fuses and they appear to be fine. Anyone have ideas or know of a common fix?

So they unplugged something? Give me a bit more info. Hoping its an easy fix.

Did your Viper have the airbag module recall done? If so, the dash, console are disassembled, and the steering wheel is removed with the column being dropped down. Part way through it looks like a bomb went off.

Unknown if the recall was done I'll check on that. But even if it was where is this plug you speak of? In the steering column?

You can check recall status here:

Yes, in column.

Mind the airbag warning instructions.

If you have to do this yourself, I would start by removing the covers over the base of the stalks...AFTER disconnecting the negative battery terminal and allowing the airbag capacitors to discharge. To remove the battery cover, you will need a 27 Torx.

Not knowing your appetite for such things, you may wish to consult a Viper Tech.

I don't mind working on my own cars but electrical has never been my strong suit.

Revisiting this topic as the new driving season approaches. It appears all the recalls were done on the vehicle so not sure if something was disconnected when the airbag recall was done. Hate bringing any car to a dealer never mind my viper.

You should be able to pop the 4 screws out from under the steering wheel column trim and rule the ‘disconnected’ theory out in 5 mins...
