Just got my Gen IV ACR, not happy with the stock exhaust sound.

Any recommendations? Had Corsas on my GenII, but not sure if they will sound the same on my Gen IV.

Thanks!

Corsa was the most popular choice Leslie. They will have the same "sound", but will sound totally different coming out opposite sides.

Leslie.

The next time you are over at Positron ask Ray to fire up his 08 ACR. It has Bellanger headers with high flow cats and Corsa mufflers. I don't think you would be happy with anything else.

Just put the M&M 3 1/2 inch catback on mine and the sound is incredible. I ran Corsa track on my gen 3 and it was a bit bright for my taste. This one uses big 6 inch Dynomax mufflers and the sound is deep. Not sure if it will bolt up to a stock exhaust manifold/ cat combo.

I use full Belanger headers and exhaust. it sounds incredible. Turn the volume way up:

I prefer the Corsa's on the Gen IV. Like Flatout said though..if you like a deeper sound, might want to look into something different. Another plus for Corsa's is the lack of drone.

I was at Tomball last week when Bernie was loading a customer's TA into a trailer. Had Belangers and Corsa. One of the best sounding Vipers I have heard.

No drone with the Corsa exhaust. Had straight pipes but it was just too loud.....sounded great though.

This is Bellanger headers, cat delete, 2.5" Corsa.

Yeah, turn it up.

Same setup but with straight pipes. Damn things are about 128dB WOT.

Here is a Corsa to Straight pipe comparo with dB meter.

It is hard to decide when listening to youtube clips because they all sound good :D Any way you can listen to local cars in person with differing setups?

That would be the optimal scenario.

Viper #2 please:)

So that's no headers, corsa exhaust.. no cats?

That's what I had on my GenII, loved it!

All Bellager headers, both with no cats, one Corsa, one Straight through.

I agree - plus the build quality of the Belangers is unsurpassed.

sounds like the headers make the difference.

Leslie,

Ive got a full belanger exhaust on my car. Headers, hi-flow cats, and belanger exhaust. Hopefully the videos (if i posted them correctly) will give you an idea. The sound is amazing.

This is to get an idea of sound in the cabin

This is startup and idle

This is after the car has been at idle for about 5 minutes. Notice how the tone has changed. Much deeper.

Belangers and Corsa exhaust. That's what Woodhouse installed on my TA. If I had of known how great they sound I would have replaced the stock exhaust on the ACR.

I wish the Corsa exhaust was a bit deeper like the Belanger, but the drone.......and the drone is worse in a Vert. Right in your ear.

Yeah, once you've experienced drone on a vehicle, you won't want to go back there! It can happen on motorcycles, too. Just an annoying, annoying situation. If owners are reporting a drone on any particular exhaust system, I would stay away (far away) from it. Not a race car, you shouldn't have to wear ear plugs (and your sig other will pick another vehicle every time). I went through a similar scenario with suspension-- yeah, it's cool to have something that's track-ready with ~zero body roll, but if it beats you to death on the street, you will drive it less and less. I want the Viper to be fun to drive and useable on the street-- even after a few hours of seat time. But then, I make different and more practical mod choices now than when I was 22. :t0122:

Very true, but I keep reverting back on the suspension thing :D Yes my Wife complains, but yes it keeps her out of the car more which isn't a bad thing for me.

Leslie, give JonB a call and let him talk through all the combinations and reasons for doing them. I think I drove him nuts with questions before I decided what to do, but he can take it! I ended up with Corsa, Random Tech high flow cats with the metal substrate instead of the ceramic, and I stayed with 2.5in inlets instead of 3in, to preserve torque since I was not doing headers. The sound is fantastic and I have received compliments, even from other Viper owners, that understand all potential exhaust combinations.

Good Luck!
