I just got installed on my drivers door the window boss kit. 2013 Gen V viper. Window had fallen all the way down in the door.
After having a professional install the new parts from Doug this morning,
I now notice that when I open the door with the window closed the window does not go down as much as the passenger side, it goes down just a little enough for the glass to clear and allow me to open the door.

When I close the door it seals good and goes back to the original position, but it does not move up as much as the passenger, since when you close the door the window itself is not as down from the fully sealed positoin like the passenger. I t basically has about 1/8" movement when it is fully closed and you open the door.

Is there any programing that needs to be done to the window, or something did not get installed right?

The installer says the window glass does not have any adjustment in the front, and very littel where you attach the bolts on the boss kit. My window needs to come down a good 1/4" more when you oepn the door handle with the window up to match the movement of the passenger side.

installer is willing to come back and have another crack at it, and I hate to take the panel apart again, but I'm very peaky. Those of you that have done this install have had this happened?

thanks.

Have you tried the procedure of running window down and hold switch for several seconds...then full up and hold for several seconds...then repeat full cycle 3 more times ? Next, recheck to see if it is better.

Will do tonight and report back. I was not aware that it was needed, and the teck did disconnect all the electrical wires from the window for the work.

What he said - the relearn/reset function would be a good first step before thinking of tearing the panel open again.

Not sure this is even relevant, but my pax window would not auto up. Looked in the manual and completed the relearn process that seemed dpretty straightforward. No joy. While I had her at the dealer, I had him take a peek at it. He told me that he had to flash or update something before it would work for him also. I guess the system just kinda gave up. If nothing works, maybe have a good tech try that.
Good luck on whatever it turns out to be.

I just finished installing my DSE window boss kit today on both driver and passenger side and did not have any issues with the window alignment. Did your installer just replace the boss without readjusting any of the other track or regulator bolts.

I did window bosses and didn't have any issue with this, as I did them with the window still in the door I guess. BUT when I did my regulator on the passenger side last month, I could not for the life of me get it to "auto roll up" without coming back down halfway. I proceeded to re-index the window, or "relearn" it. Whatever you want to call the procedure mentioned in the posts above. That did nothing, so when I was up at ViperExchange I asked about the problem, and Morgan told me that they actually needed to flash something to get it fully reset with the new regulator. I had installed it correctly but some computer procedure was necessary, beyond the traditional "relearn." It worked after that.

I installed the kit a few weeks ago. Only issue I had was the window didn't go all the way up...when i wash the car the window has a slight leak. Opened it back up and had to bump the window up a tad and it solved it.

Not sure what year car you have but there is a TSB on the smart glass. Seems on certain models if you get in the car and start it within a second or so, the glass losses its settings. The TSB is a reflash that causes the window to go up once the car is started, kind of a bandaid to the glitch but it works.

Did the relearn and it worked . My tech did disconnect the power to the window and removed d glass to install the boss kit outside. Removing the power to the regulator looks like it caused the system to need the relearn.
Relearn sequence on my 2013:

Ignition on, hold up with door closed for 5 secs, then down and hold for 5 secs.
Ignition off, open and closed d door to turn d power off .
After this sequence it worked as expected.

this happens on our 06 IS350 when you lose battery power, you have to roll the window down halfway then back up, and you have to do it to all 4 windows at the door, not the drivers seat
