I've used Dynamat a lot on my vehicles. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. I think the only thing people may have against it is price.
Here is my old 04 Ram. I am going to be doing the same to my Power Wagon this summer.

You might also consider Second Skin Audio Damplifier.

I used Dynamat Extreme under the carpets and it worked well for reducing the heat. Only complaint I have heard is that it adds weight-- and compared to a foam Dynaliner the Dynamat is somewhat heavy stuff. So I just used it in the floormat area rather than covering the whole interior with it. I have the Dynaliner 1/4" self-adhesive foam behind the seatback area to reduce road noise.

IIRC Dynamat xtreme is .5 pounds per square foot. My Ram I used almost 300 sq feet (went crazy) so 150 pounds was not bad for the amount I used.

This is all I use anymore. It's great to work with and I've laid down probably 1000 Sq/Ft of it over the years. The standard Damplifier is equivalent to Dynamat Extreme, but with much better pricing. Plus, the foil is black so it doesn't scream "Hey! Look at my sound deadening!"

What I have been using is excatly what dynamat is, and was before people used it. Go to the hardware/construction supply, and get SELF ADHESIVE ROOF FLASHING. It is the exact same thing as the silver dynamat, AT 1/10th the cost.

I've used flashing tape a few times. It works, and is cheap. Be sure you use the butyl based kind though, some of the non-butyl types can give off an asphalt smell when they get hot. Some of them will get soft and start to liquify when they get hot too(bad for overhead and vertical surfaces in a black car).

Well I've looked at Second Skin, RattleTrap, Fatmat, and Dynamat. I'm reading where the Self Adhesive Roof Flashing is mostly asphalt based which leads to smell and melting! This is what I have found so far: Fatmat 100sqft roll 50 mill $149.00
Second Skin Damplifier 80 Sqft. $263.00 and Rattletrap 80mill 100 sqft $199.00 Dynamat Extreme 72 sqft $276.00
Just trying to figure out the best product for the money. Thanks for all your inputs!
