Did Bernie drive it and put any miles on it?

That is too cool, but you can't polish it if you get a scratch. I am already paranoid of other drivers in traffic. I would need to be medicated to own one of those, in fact I might have to take the sheet home and drive around like that.
You know a car is dead sexy when it literally comes in its own condom.
Wow, very cool, but yea, I'm too OCD and car-mental to on that paint.

Bernie can you post up the care instructions?
The paint seems too fragile to me
It's good for a trailer queen
Or it's good for a museum but not for the Corvette museum :anonymous:

I am just not into any matte finishes

That Carbon Edition is really beautiful in person. I doubt that the finish is that delicate.
Also I see Audi's on open carrier with the same type of covers on them, I never thought that this was done because the Audi paint finish is fragile.
EDIT: just found this snipit from Jim Parker head of Chryslers Exterior Color and Trim Studio.

Jim says just wash it don't wax it... so I doubt all those products are necessary...

So Bernie, clarify something. Some people that saw the Carbon at the car shows said the grille was body color. Some say Ralph has said it is black. Looking at the pictures from the car show it certainly looks body color. So which is it?

From the pics on ebay, the grill looks black.

Clearly the grill is NOT the same color as the body, unsure why people keep thinking it is.

I asked ralph about this and he confirmed it was indeed not body color.

Beautiful car....but this is probably the only color that is higher maintenance than black. When I visited Prefix, I was told you basically have to wipe it down with Windex...no waxing...and no rubbing it or it will begin to shine!!!

Needless to say there won't be many track rats buying on one of these.

Grille is just matte black plastic, just like the rest of the Vipers.

I have 3 of the brochures here that are to be signed by the owner when delivery of the car is taken. It gives washing tips and some do's and donts for the paint but it goes as far to say "aggressive washing" is not recomended. The 2 we are getting will be roped off and left in the wrapper until owners pick them up!
Looks great but I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of maintaining the paint.

That is one sexy beast. It is clear coated so it's not as bad as some matte finishes, like the matte wrap on my Camaro.
I'd consider it if I were in the market, but would like to see it in person.

MTNVIEW, you are not a paid vendor/sponsor and until you support the VOA like everyone else your post will be deleted. What you are doing is not fair to our paying vendors and we will be watching your posts.

You can have your chance to see one in person as Normandin's has one coming. I too can't wait to see it in person.

I have had posts moved and now this..starting to feel like the VCA all over again........All about the money, not about the cars and the members.
Could have been handled with an e-mail not like this!
Is this a for profit business or a club for Viper enthusiasts?

I didn't see what MTNVIEW wrote as being that bad either. Perhaps poor form to write about it in another dealers thread?

SL Viper: with all due respect we are not like other clubs but when a paid sponsor contact me and say it's not fair that they are paying to support your club and others are not. I have to work with what I feel is fair to the paying vendors.
Viper Smith: Correct-Tomball paid to support the club and reach out to you the members on what he has in stock. It's not fair for another dealer to talk about his cars that are coming in when we asked him several times to become a sponsor.
Please remember he was asked like every other paid vendor to support your/our club The VOA
I'm not going to hi jack Tomball thread and will not respond to anymore questions about this issue here but if anyone would like to know more please call me 917-526-1440 I don't pick up on numbers that are not shown. Sometimes its good to know all the facts before posting..Thank you all for your support have a great week

Makes total sense to me. Can't imagine anyone not getting it after reading the facts.
Thanks for the explanation.

Don't worry SL, I don't see a conspiracy here. It's a new club and they're still tweaking things.
Like Viper Girl said, they just added a new section because there seemed to be a growing need for it. That's all. :)
