"This is a VERY RARE Prototype! Owned by Roy Sjoberg, the "Father of the Viper", this is the 1995 Chassis Prototype with the 1995 proposed Interior. This vehicle was utilized to demonstrate the 1995 chassis configuration and engine horsepower enhancements. It also has some prototype aero enhancements. "

I've got several photos of the Vipers at Greenbrier Concours event. It rained most of the weekend but it was still a good time! On Saturday the Club Car event was held on the golf course. There was no judging of these cars. On Sunday the Concours event was held. Due to the rain, some cars were parked inside but the Vipers were outside.3241432415324163241732418

Oh what a shame about the weather :( Looks like an English car show! haha.
How were the Vipers received by the other Concourse entries? Who won the trophy?
More details from the show please, and thanks for posting the pictures

This white Viper is VM01...the first Viper. It was built with a V8. During the Concours event it was on display inside the hotel, which was a smart idea since it had no top and it rained all weekend...

This red viper was the initial Viper concept car. I don't recall which auto show it was introduced but I want to say it was 1989... Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, it was also on display inside the hotel during the Concours event.

This GTS was the initial concept for the Viper GTS. It was also displayed inside the hotel during the Concours.

Do you think the Viper class will now be invited and rolled out at other concourse events? This has got to be great for collectors of these Classics? :)

Other attendees at the Greenbrier event can chime in but I thought the Vipers were very well received. The rains kept some spectators away, but the folks who did attend were interested in the Vipers.

I am sure it will be. That said, Greenbrier has some great plans for the future of Viper at this event. The Viper Concours Team is already working on themes for May 3-5th 2019. The Team is also working on another very exciting initiative that may cement Greenbrier as THEE place to bring your Snake.
Stay tuned for more slithering news to come!

I'd like to congratulate the Wes on the Grailkeeper Award for the vehicle that Roy, Dick, Herb, and Dr. Stephen loved because of Wes' PASSION to rebuild a '14 salvage with a '07 frame.

For 2019, I am not organizing the event. I have heard from several now that organizers have been reaching out to VOA chapters. Here are the reasons:
1. Organizers changed to AACA from Concours LLC who were very Viper friendly
2. New format is Cars and Coffee only, Concours Class eliminated
3. Judging accommodations reduced
As a result, Roy, Herb, Dick, and Kenny aren't attending.
Cars and Coffee in their format is just another nice car show and pricey.
Any questions, thoughts, or ideas, then please call me 248-705-1245.
