Hi all!
Out on a regular drive & all of a sudden this code & the engine light came on(not blinking) but however car still drives normal. I think bank 1 is the driver's side? Does this code affect performance or how the car behaves at all though? Should I stop driving the car entirely til I get the issue fixed to avoid hurting stuff?
FYI car is bone stock exhaust never ever touched. Maybe simply just a bad o2 sensor?
Thanks for the inputs!
I threw this code recently as well. It pertains to the downstream O2. “Should” be a bad sensor since everything is stock.

I take it you mean the one just above the front jack point right? There's a 2nd o2 further down too?

that is the rear 02
So P0420 specifically refers to the one by the front jack point & the rear o2 would be a different code?

The "rear" O2 sensor is called the downstream sensor. The dealer parts website that I looked at has the 5149180AA description as "Sensor, Oxygen - upstream sensor," i.e., the one mounted between the exhaust port and the catalytic converter.
(I suspect that you may be misinterpreting some of the posts above.)

The front and rear are the same except the connectors are keyed differently.

I been looking to buy a rear the whole time & dodgeparts.com has the Lwr o2 as 5149180AA & the Ft o2 as 68090640AA
So after what you said I tried moparpartscanada.ca & they got upper o2 as 5149180AA & lower o2 as 68090640AA which matches what you saying!
So I don't know what's going on here lol...

Which means it's still front & rear specific then I suppose...
