Hi Everyone!

I've been looking for a Gen IV viper for quite a while now and I finally found one! I'm located in CA but found this beauty in Indiana. 2009 with 1400 miles on her. I'm very excited to be part of the VOA and read about all the experiences and knowledge people have to offer on this forum! Hopefully, down the road, I'll be able to contribute and give back to the viper community also. Thought I'd post a few pics below (The Blue Shelby Super Snake is my Brothers Car)

I just swapped out the silver Viper SRT-10 emblems on the side for the black ones. Also, I have a pair of the carbon fiber door sills coming in the mail. After all the research on this site, I just built, and swapped out the oil cooler lines with the preferred -10 AN fittings due to the factory design flaw in the quick disconnect fittings. Peace of mind for $250 bucks -- gotta be proactive about that stuff. Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone up front for all the helpful VOA threads!

Welcome to the VOA and congrats on your great find with such low mileage! Always good to know that folks can use the forum to help them in their purchase and maintenance of their Snake.
I like the Ford, Chevy and Dodge theme you have going there! Red, white and blue :-)

Welcome!

Very Viper Orange! Same here. Two of 19 in SoCal. I'm in San Diego.

Hey where exactly did you get that -10 AN fittings kit from.. n' did you pull the oil pan to get 'em installed?

Thanks and Welcome once again!

Congrats! Hoping the rubber is newer than 2009! If not, change out the 9 year old tires regardless of the low mileage.

Yup! The rubber and the wheels are about 16 months old... not too bad. Good lookin' out though. That's the good thing about this forum.

Funny thing is, Very Viper Orange was my first choice! Mine is Viper red (second choice)... the pics aren't the best so it might have an orange hue to it. It already had the wheels, tires, lowering caps, and belanger mufflers with low miles so I couldn't hold out for orange (absolutely love VVO though).

I put that "kit" together through summit... worked out great (see parts below). I used a lift and removed the oil filter so it was much easier to install the lines. I can see how it would be extremely easy to install them if the pan was removed. The hose I used was the woven material on the outside with the stainless braided sheath on the inside. Little bit overkill based on the design temps and pressures, but good to go! There is a lot of debate on the types of hoses and fittings used on this site, but I think there may be a little bit of marketing involved also. Thanks for the words of welcome!

Hahahaha, How come you keep telling everyone to eat more oatmeal!? Quaker and blackberries are a solid combination.

It's just a good meal to start the day, it keeps you mentally sharp for the high demands of our cars.

Quacker and blackberries is always a great, go-to!

Beautiful car and thanks for sharing your fitting list. Seems like a great alternative to some of the over priced kits out there.

How dose your Gen 4 stack up to your brother's Super Snake?

Thanks!

The best way I can describe the Super Snake (~830hp dyno'd out of the Vegas Shelby Factory), is violent power! My gen 4 is so much more smooth. If my brother could get a bit more traction in the SS, he would wipe the floor with me. Although, I think it would be a close race as it stands now. He's got about 300 lbs on the viper also. Let's just say he wants a Gen 5 now.

Thank you! And yes, I'm definitely experiencing that. People walk right by the Shelby and start asking questions about the viper. It's interesting not a lot of people know what they are... I'm surprised actually.
