Was a warm day on Saturday so I thought I would fire up the Gen IV for the first time this year. Car started up fine, good idle, and decided to take it for a short drive. All was well until about a mile away when after trying to take off after a stop the car started bucking, running rough, and the little charge icon came up flashing which for some reason registered in my head as the electronic throttle control indicator. I was able to get the car home as it seemed to drive OK after a little nursing.
Get in the driveway, turned the car off, started back up and the ETC indicator is still flashing. Looked in the manual, saw that it was the throttle thingy like I thought it was. Turned the car off again, slowly pushed the gas pedal to the floor...doing this a few times...then started the car back up and the indicator was no longer there. Fired the car up, gave a few blips on the throttle and all seemed well. Normal after sitting for a few months, and was just a glitch or ?

Any mods? I'd say not normal, but these cars can be finicky.

Arrow PCM that has been in place for a couple of years now. Had this similar thing happen when the PCM was changed, but then I did the same thing with the gas pedal and it never happened again until this past Saturday. Have some not so good weather coming in so it will be at least a week before I can take the car for a drive again to see if all is well.

You can recalibrate the drive by wire.
Standard throttle calibration steps:
1. Insert key in ignition , turn key to the far right but don't start the car.
2. Depress accelerater quickly to the floor. (hold it there)
3. Turn the ignition switch to off, then release the gas pedal. (done)
Start and drive as normal.
Hope this helps and post your results to help others that might have similar issues.

I would definitely look at the battery and make sure it is not only full, but not defective. Defective batteries may show a full charge but then bounce around in their voltage and amperage output causing all sorts of issues with these cars.

Second this, especially if the car has been sitting. Is it on a Battery Tender when not in use?
If it isn't the battery, you'll have to wait and see if it comes back. If it does, I'd probably ask the dealer that installed the Arrow PCM to reaccomplish the throttle relearn procedure.

Hey what's the diff between the calibration procedure and the PCM ReLearn process?
