View Full Version : Uconnect update
You may wanna hold off on this one: https://jalopnik.com/fiat-chrysler-pushed-a-uconnect-update-that-causes-cons-1822939437
P.S. No mention of what models are affected, but this being FCA I would not push my luck ;)

Dont thing thats us, unless the GTS guys have heated seats. not sure why the Viper would need heated seats, the secondary cats provide sufficient cabin heat!!! LOL

I did the update on my ram and then the radio etc stopped working and then it was a hassle to get replaced from the dealer. some functions still worked and some did not until they changed head unit.

I don't subscribe to UConnect in the Viper, but I did get an over the air update back in September. Took about 40 minute of driving, and when it was done, it wiped all my Sirius pre-sets, and had to shut off the car, and re-start the car twice to re-boot the system. It put my Performance Pages in an App, and I have to bring that up from there, if I do it from the Favorites, it tells my I'm not subscribed. Weird.
I do subscribe to UConnect in the Ram. It had an over the air update around then as well with no issues at all. Haven't been prompted in the Ram that there is an another update. Haven't had the Viper out in a couple weeks.

Dodge is probably screwed on this one, everyone who had their vehicle update Over The Air will need to bring their vehicle to a dealer to have fixed. I suspect they won’t be able to push an OTA update to fix it because the units keep rebooting within seconds.

I'm on a Jeep forum as i recently got a Trackhawk, and the recent update has totally f'ed up the Uconnect on the 18 Jeep Trackhawk. Constant rebooting, since Friday.

How does an update like this make through quality control? Sad.

There's a thread over on the Ram Forums as well. In fact, RamCares responded that they are "working on it". So I guess if and when my truck indicates an update available, I'm going to decline it until I see there's a fix.

I got an update for my Chally some two weeks ago and I didn't notice anything.
The car has been at the shop for clear wrap and whatnot since the 4th and I'll get it back tomorrow. If it pops an update, I'll gracefully decline lol

This sounds like it might be my issue I am having with the screen not booting up sometimes. Takes from 10 secs, to 10 mins to boot up to the home screen. I have been having this problem since I bought the car used 2 weeks ago. Hmmm...
Off to the dealer I guess.

What version was the OTA update?
I just posted a rant thread on this issue.
