View Full Version : Clutch pedal bushing replacement
Hi all,
I was out today and ran into a problem. The Viper wouldn't start, clutch went all the way to the floor. The plastic (bushing) thingymajig broke. I've searched online and found quite a few parts, but nothing that looks similar to what I have. My questions are, does anyone know the proper part number for this piece, and is there something better to replace it with than plastic? Believe it or not, the rod is being held in place by duct tape at the moment. :)
Thanks in advance for your help!

Might consider keeping spares in the car (I do).

I remember changing mine out a long time ago. That is when I realized, I might be claustrophobic! :)

drill a hole in the shaft and use a flat washer and a hitch pin style clip and problem solved forever.

There is also some type of modification that involves using the same clip that is used on the gas or brake pedal. I don't have the details. I just know that the modification was used on my car. Supposedly lasts longer but not forever. Guess how I know? It took awhile to figure out what the matching replacement part was.

How involved is replacing this part? I've never thought about doing it but it seems like a lot of you guys have run into this problem. Is it worth it to buy the part and just replace it now or is this just one of those things that breaks at random?
