Hey Alex,

If I'm not taking my viper, would you recommend that we get a rental car, or do you think its not really needed?

Thanks!

would highly recommend a rental car, lot of the events are off strip (strip is mostly walkable). Rental cars are inexpensive in Vegas too.

Hey Martin, yes, definitely have a rental. Pretty much everyone is doing so. You'll need a way to get around to the various venues (and to participate in the cruise). We're also awaiting final decisions on including regular cars (in special groups) for the track as well. So you definitely need a car.

Martin, check out Turo. They have some decent cars for rent in LV.

One thing to mention... I remember when vehicle dynamics equipment started hitting rental cars a while back - they'd check what you were doing incessantly even on a mustang. They don't bother checking as much, but be aware if it's on a higher end car (especially if they see wear) they will check it on occasion. Had a friend rent a Viper a few years ago, tearing up the tires with burnouts, and then when he returned it they charged him $1000 more due to aggressive driving.

We have decided to work in modules for non-Vipers (rentals) even for the track. So you can have a little fun, but just keep in mind what they can see these days.

Also there is N0 insurance coverage for rented vehicles while on track . That physical damage and liability.

Another good point worth highlighting, and repeating with more emphasis. thanks Steve.

We do a pretty nice track day, but as you'll hear when at the track, there are terrific liabilities for people when it comes to their car, their medical, etc... And the same is true for both vipers and rentals, you need to understand those risks and prepare for them (and certainly controlling how hard you drive is one of the critical ways to limit exposure). And as Steve points out, you can't get track insurance for a rentals, and don't think for a moment that the rental insurance offered at the counter will cover you while driving on any track surface. So drive within your limits, but also realize that even with sensible driving, you can always still have incidents (ie blown tires, incidents with other people, etc...). So much like any track day, be aware of the risks! A less important item worth mentioning, it's also not all about you. When you have an incident (for instance sliding off the track), this created downtime on a VERY expensive investment. Not only is that money wasted for the time the track goes cold, but you're taking away track time from other paying members, which cannot be made up later. So for your sake, and others, let's all make it a good time and control the things we can.

If you don't bring the car, you are not invited to the Party Suite. That should be an incentive!!!!!!

And yes, the winners of the penthouses will certainly be flaunting their victory...

Frank, just keep it down up there. I don't want a call from Delano telling me there's a crazy man disrupting the other penthouse floor guests.
