I ended up taking a stab at an inexpensive replacement option for the lift supports on the rear hatch. Wasn't really on my priority list but can sometimes be an annoyance so I wasn't too concerned if my inexpensive shocks didn't work out. I only paid about $15 shipped for two shocks so I could only expect so much.

Anyways the shocks DO work and look great. Only issue is on the driver's side the switch for the alarm system mounts on the shaft of the shock and is engaged when the shock compresses. Since the replacement shocks have a larger diameter shaft the switch either needs to be modified, removed, or bypassed.

I got lucky and only one of my shocks was blown so I just replaced the blown shock for now.

Anyways as always, check out the video for more details :D

I ordered 2 for my 08 ACR hood from Rock Auto. The new ones were identical to the original ones. Same brand and part number less than half the price.

Got some here from Rock Auto as well. $12.37 each plus shipping. Same diameter.
