Hmmm... Carfax says it has 100 miles and was a 1 owner car. Dealer says it has 50 miles. Either way still a good price even if used for 100 miles.

I have to be honest with you. I don't own either a Gen IV or a V (which should be remedied this year), but it is a tough call for me on whether I'd go with a Gen V over a Gen IV ACR. The Gen IV is still stunning 6 years later. I bet my mind will shift if/when SRT releases the ACR. I really think with the success of the special editions and the release of the Z06 that we'll see it very soon. Good thing I have to wait until December anyways.

Especially for the price difference. hard pill to swallow when you looked at it in that fashion. If your just buying it outright, it does not seem so much, but when you factor in a trade or selling your car and adding the extra cash, it hurts real bad. Especially when your getting it from both ends. your losing on your car and losing on the new car as soon as you step on the gas peddle and drive it 10 ft.

I don't know about you guys, but I respect my money too much to just hand it over realizing the loss incurred.

The person who's father and mother lived until 90 or 95 years has the perception that their life will be as long.

The person who's father died of a heart attack at 39 and who's mother died of cancer at 42, and who's brother or sister died in a car accident at 24 thinks that today is his last day.

Just Spend accordingly to how long you think you will live.

Man these cars are steals! Can't believe that GTS for $99k. Maybe I'll sell my Camaro and get a second Viper as a dedicated track car. So tempting! Can't afford it yet but that may be my long term plan. Although the Camaro has the benefit that it's cheap to fix if god forbid I kiss a wall on the track.

For those of you on the fence, deals can't get much better than this. And if you're thinking about a TA, they're selling fast and may sell out.

Amen brother. My friend's wife just passed away suddenly from cancer at way too young an age. Devastating.

My dad always dreamed of tracking his Ferrari. Now sadly he's too old to even try. Worked too hard for too long, now some dreams are forever out of reach.

Life is short....enjoy it now!!

Interesting to note that the free market will be getting the Gen 5's moving after the initial launch with what many thought was a price point that was too high and many unfavorable media reviews. Now that pricing is coming down, the Gen 5 will move and many will find out what a great car it is. After that happens, the value of the Gen 5 may start creeping up, especially if production ever stops.

Very similar to what happened to the Ford GT.....over priced at the launch and then dealers couldn't sell them anywhere near MSRP a year later. Now look at the values of a 9 year old Ford GT, yikes!!

Cheers,
George

Yup difficult to find a decent example in a Ford GT for less than 1/4 mill. I think them stopping production all together had a lot to do with it though. It's a great car; like the Viper, one of my favs

I completely agree about the price and the fact that its price skyrocketed after the production ceased. But that was also a car that commemorated one of the greatest and most recognizable race cars ever. Ford actually did the body perfectly to update yet keep the original shape there. That one goes against every rule of car appreciation this early in its life. It's completely out of my league, but I can look and drool. I honestly think even when the Viper production does end, they won't follow that curve as quickly. The white with blue stripe 96 GTS will probably be the only ones that appreciate quickly as there were only three made, the blue with white stripe will eventually have its day, but it's a long way off.

One of my colleagues is a car guy, was going to retire at the end of this year at age 60. We always talked about what cars he wanted to buy, cars he regretted not buying, and what he planned to do when he retired. He had a stroke last week, almost died. Half of his body isn't working now.

Had problem with engine lights after I picked it up they are going to fix it and ship it to me Andy is great to deal with. I will post pics after I get back home. The Orange ta in person is awesome.

Check out the thread "Check Engine light on my 2014 GTS". Probably the same problem, TEC numerators need to be relearned. Instructions are in that thread. Apparently more common that SRT would like. There is a good chance if their tech asks the Chryster Tech support line, he will get the wrong instructions. Mine did.

Same kinda thing pushed me to buy our 09 vert. My mother-in-law had 2 heart attacks, 3x by-pass, and a medium sized stroke, all in 1 week last Oct!!! And on the way to and from the Hospital, there sat a 2008 Gen IV coupe at the local Porsche dealer, that is when I really started thinking about "when am I going to step up and buy my dream car"???
