I can't see the actual cord, but I think it's about to come out?

Yes. So if I saw it I would change it out.

Truth is I have driven them WAY beyond where that tire is at now. That tire has no more than 1 session left in it and will be showing steel next time around.

That said now that you caught it I wouldn't use it again.

It may be corded like that for a reason. Look to see if the tire is scrapping against any body parts when the wheel is turned.

I literally said the same thing as I read the OP's post. : )

Those tires are indeed toast and dangerous, definitely would not take out on another session.

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw it first.

Truth is, I was overdriving the car a bit (I could not help myself since it was too much fun) in the the Lightbulb at NJMP Lightning lap after lap and this front left tire took a beating.

Very interesting how different tires come apart differently. But these R7s still lasted at least 3 times as long as stock Kumhos and I love that.

So Eugene are you running the R7's on the front only and have the Kumho's on the back still?

Absolutely and I'm loving this setup! Car handles really well and Hoosiers last a long time. Credit goes to Darius for coming up with it and testing it out.

The right front tire is still OK and has at least 1 mild track day left in it. I'll keep it in the basement for next season and will match it with another right front from the next set.

I also put together a street setup with Toyo R888Rs in front and stock Kumhos in the back (R888Rs are the same diameter as my Hoosiers, so there is no change in suspension geometry). Just used it for a 600+ mile VOA event road trip event with zero issues. That setup works well, except Toyos howl so loud at 70+ mph speeds that you can hear it from inside the car over the engine in 6th gear. I'll probably do a track day with Toyos in the front next season, just to see how they are on the track and will try PSC2's as street setup instead (same diameter tire).

Looks like the camber is spot(evenly worn) on for the tracks you've visited.

The front is set up using the settings from Bondurant racing school (from the time they had ACRs there). I also have the Snake Oyl camber plate kit installed, so the camber is always -2.5.
