Took my car into the dealer for a throttle relearn, and when I got it back I noticed (or finally noticed) the little hole in the weather stripping by the drivers door. When I pointed it out to the dealer he said that all of the weather stripping has this hole (I thought maybe it was a small cut from someone getting in/out of the car). So the question is that hole supposed to be there?

Seems to me if it is supposed to be there that it was installed wrong as the hole should be in the down position. Currently where it is located just invites all kinds of potential issues for things to get into the seal and cause further damage.

It is there to release air when door closes, there is no way to reverse it so hole is down and no way to get water in it when door is closed.

Normal as Mark said.

Thanks...

Do not see anything like this on the passenger side door seal so that is why I thought maybe it was installed in the wrong orientation.

I have them on both sides... in the same place... run your finger around the seal and you will feel the hole... man this is sounding a little perverted!
