Gen V 2014 TA
I was driving on the interstate at noon today and the driver's door popped open.
It didn't completely open as the mechanism caught it.
I just grabbed it and held it until I could pull over.
I'm not going to do anything since it could have been a fluke, one-time deal but I thought I would
everyone know.
I know a relatively small number of others have had a similar problem after they washed their cars. I haven't washed mine yet and
it hasn't been in the rain.

I knew this was coming from someone. With the several mentioning its happening while parked it was a matter of time.
Crazy, I bet that was a surprise!

I have heard that Vipers are scary, but come on :saw:
One a serious note, I have read that several members have had the same issue, and that their dealers changed their door-opening device.

Take it to the dealer, I think this has gotten to the point where SRT needs to do a recall on the part. The more that report it the better.

Problem has been out there for awhile and TA is a new manufactured line. If there is an updated part used in dealer fix, then why not on the new manufactured car?
Guys, this is getting ridiculous! Come on SRT, stop shooting your dicks off. This Fisher Price plastic parts issue, whether it be these new Gen door switches or window regulators from previous Gens has to stop. How frustrating this must be for a new car owner!

Imagine if this happened with the passenger door going around a corner and there was no way to grab it! This is getting stupid, SRT do something!

If the passenger has a seat-belt on, no problem. In a Gen 1, the belt was on the door (ex Canada) !!
My 06 SRTC FED had this happen ONE time and I think it was an old-battery-low-voltage-insufficient charge BCM issue.
It happened on my wife's older Z06 and had something to do with the 'proximity sensor' FOB. Now she has a SRT-8 Challenger...
