View Full Version : Canards and rock guards installed thx JonB
Wanted to add the extreme canards to my ACR and protection of rock guards.
JonB set me up, had them before the ink on the email dried requesting them.
Canards install took 1 hour, with me being as careful as one should be when drilling in to an ACR, lol.
Rock guards took about 20 minutes total, no need to remove wheels if you have a decent set of tools.
Here are some pics for others' reference. I'm thrilled to get the guards on, I've had similar on my previous gens and thy are great protection. The dual set of canards I think balance the front better than the single pair, so thrilled on how that turned out as well.

holes in the fender are next lol

LoL, that'd defeat the rock guards, I don't want the wheel well splatter effect, especially on track, been there, done that ... maybe some fake ones, maybe after the curb feelers, haha (but seriously).

those fronts definitely look like mudflaps

Rose by any other name ... is still a rose. Agreed, no matter what we call them, this is what they are.

They work. We have a lot of road scraping going on and I had to leave the ACR parked as a result, with these, I can get out to decent roads without hearing a million tinking rocks flying all over the car, looks be damned, I barely notice them, but they are a savior.

Glad to hear how they work. Mine are still in transit but I am looking forward to getting them on the snake. Great feedback.

You can give JonB a call, he generally only quotes verbally because his prices are so darn good. lol.
Install is very easy. Since it's pop rivet mounting it's as easy as drill, rivet, done. Just solid measuring to ensure you drill correctly and I of course paint taped the whole area while doing it so I could mark it up and measure, and protect the paint while working.

Dman, what size/type pop rivets did you use? I have a rivet gun but I would prefer to get the experience from someone before me so I don't use something to short or too narrow. Thanks

They come with the canards, standard rivet gun should work. My rivet gun is like 20'yrs old I mostly use for re packing sport bike exhaust, dirt bike cans, etc. and was perfect. It looks factory once done. And IMO the 2 look normal, the 1 canard to me looked too lonely, like stuck on, the 2 look balanced. One of the few things I worried with just really for looks.

So you bought the factory OEM canards? Where did you get them?
