Hello,

Gen V room. Just received my 2013 GTS today. Had just 648 miles on the ODO when I received her.

Put about 75 miles on today. Has had the R28/ 29 recalls done. She is the EXACT car I was looking for.

OMG this car is unreal! The only other Viper I have driven is my '96 GTS, BIG difference!

Shout out to Eddie Martin (Viper Tech Extraordinaire) of Airpark Dodge for helping make sure she was good to go.

Congrats !! Great looking car and yes the gen v viper are out of this world I used to have a gen 3 previously and the gen v is on another level. Do you still have that gen 2 gts or sold it ? As i'm now looking for a gen 2 and would love to hear your input.

Thanks
Yousif

Congrats! You mentioned no warranty - if it is a 2013 that had R28, you almost certainly have the 10 year extended warranty that we were given on our cars. Have your service advisor run the VIN.

Congratulations. You will really enjoy driving it. I had a 99 RT-10 for 9 years and loved it, but my 2014 GTS is so much more comfortable to drive and its performance is much better. I got mine in January 2016 and have put 17,000 miles on it already. It is a car that just begs you to take it out and drive it.

Nice car!

Even though you have a 10 year powertrain warranty I'd personally buy an extended warranty, search here to find the best deal. It's very likely something will need fixed, even one electrical gremlin will pay for the warranty!

If you have R28 and R29 recalls, you have a 10 year warranty on the engine

^ What about R29 only but the motor was replaced by Dodge?

No i don't think so. If it was replaced there was no reason to have the extended coverage. I am guessing that if it passed R28 and R29 then there is still a possibility that the engine could fail... Hence the warranty.

Hey Congrats, I just picked up a 2013 with less than 100 miles myself. Great car so far, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Mine was replaced and they extended the coverage for 10 years. Got a nice letter in the mail explaining it.

R29 only?

Replaced because of a failed r28.

R29 only?
None of the R29 only cars have the 10y, only with both will you have the warranty, engine previously replaced or not

Thanks everyone.

It did pass the R28, and the R29 was done. According to my local Viper tech it qualified for the 10 year engine warranty!

i think you have a year after the 3 year expires from the original sell date to buy one. Mine expired but hasnt been a year and I just picked up an official FCA maximum care from ClayR here

Congrats! Check your oil religiously!
If you ever want to take it out to the track, let me know!

be sure to check the oil in the correct procedure also, within 5 min of shutoff of a warmed up engine. It should read at the top. Meaning if you checked it cold it would read high. If its reading at the top when the engine is cold youre going to be down 2 quarts.

Best advice here. Check it at a regular mileage interval, on flat ground. (I check mine about eveyr 200 miles, in my garage). This way you have consistency, and apples-to-apples readings.
