Removing silver door guards

Has anyone removed the silver door guards on their genv? I tried to get the factory to not install but they wouldn't and they are stuck down with double sided tape. I have painted ones on my 3 that I want to transfer to the 5.

Get them hot by driving the car and then peel them up. They'll pull up with some force, especially if you don't care about bending them.

I removed mine by using a hair dryer and fishing line, then WD-40 to remove the glue left on the sill.

I took out the 3 screws and then worked them off by getting fingers under them... doesn't require any more than that.

Use dental floss to cut the double stick
