fyi, belangers are the headers with the most tq in the viper power range. best header for the road course. if you are a drag racer? go long tube. :drive:

It doesn't take much time at all before the coating starts to blister and even peel. Lots of heat generated.

Whoever does their coating does a shit job...it's either bad prep, a bad coating, or a combination of both. There is no excuse for it IMO, especially at that price.

For real.... I will be seriously disappointed if mine look like that after a couple years.

In just dropped my headers off today. Quite a few people I know have used the place I went for the last couple decades with no flaking. My only guess is they used the cheaper 1300 temp coating? I'm getting the high temp 2,000 degree coating in flat black for $370. It comes with a 3 year warranty. I don't know what it would cost to removed old coating though.

They'd probably have to sand blast it on.
Make sure you post pics, id like to see the headers coated in black.

I recently purchased a set of Belangers and they were also peeling. I brought them into a local powder coater and had the high temp black ceramic coating done. They came out great and I am looking forward to installing them in a few weeks. 26598

I just got them back today. I asked the shop about how they would get old coating off and they said sand blast just like you mentioned.

To Belanger's defense, I track this car hard here in hot Arizona, I've melted everything under my hood more than once. They've seen more abuse than 99.9% of these will see. That's another reason I went with the American racing, they are stainless steel which has a much lower thermal conductivity than mild steel.

If anyone wanted a set I picked up a take off set from NTH and won't be using them. They are the headers, hi flow cats, muffler set up. I didn't even open the box from NTH. PM if interested in them. They are ready to ship right now.

I am not a big fan of mild steel headers bust have found they the Belangers run much coolers than stainless headers.

I've run the balls off of Belangers for almost 3 years and they still look brand new.
