So, I went to Sonoma... Again!
I just went Sunday The 14th with SpeedSF and we had a few Vipers there.

Today, once again I had the lone snake :(
It was pretty hot out there (supposed to be in the low 90's) and I had to do it because I love Sears Point.

Unfortunately, my day got cut short because of tire troubles.
Funny enough, I showed my tires to Todd (VENOM V) and he said: Yeah, they're getting bad, maybe they have 3 sessions in them.

So, I went to the track with those because I figured that maybe I could squeeze at least 4 or maybe 5 sessions.
Turns out that Todd was RIGHT! 3 sessions is all they lasted. I was gassing up and I checked my tires at the time, since I had nothing better to do. I check my tires and oil after every session, just to be sure.

Then I noticed this:
25680
:drive:

Overall, not bad because they did last about 15 sessions in all.
I'll call the dealership tomorrow and check if they have a couple in store because I have another track day on the 4th.

Those 3 sessions were pretty good. The first one is always a wash for me because I take my time to warm my tires, but the next two were much better. Especially the 3rd one. I made some progress in some turns and T7 is becoming a lot of fun (for me that is because I think my rear tires ain't too happy).
Anyway, still a lot to learn at that track.

Note: I probably could have done a couple more sessions, albeit slower but I didn't want to risk it and instead of paying $800 for a couple of tires, end up paying for some smashed body work.

Could part of the problem be not enough air in them? The center of that tire looks like it still has a lot of tread depth.

What are your alignment settings?

I haven't changed anything from when I got the car. I believe that stock it's supposed to be -2.8 of camber on the front.
I need to go get it set up because even though I raised the left front up last week I noticed that it's still too low and I can't fit my low profile jack to lift the car from the front.
It's kind of weird because the helper spring is compressed all the way (which it shouldn't be) and the car is still below 4" ride height.

As far as air pressure goes, I start at 28 and settle for 33 PSI hot throughout the day. Keep in mind that faster people get some 6 sessions of 20 minutes on the front. I got twice as many so I perhaps, that's just the way it goes.

I'll get the current setup numbers hopefully this week. I need to get everything done before the 3rd since I have another track day on the 4th.

DO you know the times you were running? That is darius' home track, he said he ditched the kumho because they do not last long and went with hoosiers.

I don't time myself, so I have no clue :D
Fortunately for me, I don't have the same driving style as Darius. That dude is seriously fast and gets through tires like I get through a bag of m&M's (that's quick).

Do you drive this on the street a lot? That looks normal to me if you are running these on the street with the -2.8 front camber. Any car with that much front camber is going to wear the insides of the tires out if driven a lot on the street.

I have 2400 miles on the car, about 2000 are street miles, so no I don't drive it much on the streets.
You're right though, the camber will definitely have a big impact.

My settings were:

-2.9 FL
-3.1 FR
-1.6 Both rear

Ride height was about 4" on the front and about 5.5" rear but the shop is setting it up as I type.
I'm going for -1.7 rear as per the SRT numbers and -2.8 front also per SRT numbers.

If I can't keep the tires for more than 2-3 track days, I'll consider going 18" with slicks up front and 19" with slick rear.
Problem is that I'll have to buy wheels $$$
