From what I understand it's to hold open the capless fuel filler. Really no different than a normal funnel I guess. I haven't had to use mine yet.

A lot of new vehicles come with one, if they have a capless fuel system. It's the same size as a gas nozzle at the pump.

I've used it to add fuel Stableizer.

Yep, just so you can fill with the tank with a gas can if you make the mistake of passing the first station you see.

There's one in the seat back pocket on every United flight now.

Wagnut, I learned the hard way you can't use just any funnel for fuel or fuel stabilizer due to the size. You need this thing or something like it. I made a mess of my car when I tried to winterize it with just a regular funnel.

Correct, has to be the exact same size.

Where is that supposed to be stored? is there a mount or something?

I saw it floating around my "new" 2013 GTS and wasn't sure what it was so thanks for posting.

Mine was loose in the trunk, from new at the dealer, I always wondered where exactly it clipped onto, anyone got a pic?

That looks like it'd be a mess. You just flood the whole area with pee? Gross! Lol

It's too damn small to actually be useful.
For some reason, I wanted to fill up the car with a gas can and it took forever. I had to let the liquid go really, really slowly so that it wouldn't overflow... If you're ever stranded, out of gas. That thing is a pain.

It snaps in under the battery cover/close out panel in the trunk on the right side.

This nozzle is used at older gas pumps that have a different nozzle shape (too short). When I was driving my ACR home from Woodhouse, I was passing by Detroit and stopped for gas. Opened the gas tank, put the hose in and starter pumping. Gasoline started gushing out of the tank. Had to use the white extender thing to refuel. Never had to use it since.

That fact that it comes in purple well now I'm interested...More for my car than my wife though. LOL...

It's for filling the car up with gas from a gas can at the track, or I guess if you ran out of gas on the street. lol.
I've got a funnel I stick into this when adding 5 gallons at the track.
