My ACR-E delayed until end of August so that 2017 for the US can be built in time before the deadline (of still being able to call them 2017). FWIW

I wonder if there is any chance that there could be a few 2018's.

After all, it is my understanding that FCA is keeping the CAAP facility but re-purposing it. Thus, there is no physical reason why it could not be done.

The only issue is whether the cars can satisfy 2018 regulations (which they cannot), but there may be an exemption if a very small number of cars are built.

In other words, what would happen if say 20 cars are finished after August 31 and FCA is able to exempt those cars from the new 2018 requirements? I am sure an application could be made and a large auto manufacturer like FCA probably knows how to do this.

It wouldn't be the first time that something odd has happened with model year designations in the automotive world.
