Will gen 5 rotors work on a gen 4? I was hoping to find out before took the time to machine slots in my take off 2013 cast rotors.

I believe the steel rotors are interchangeable, but I would call Mark J or talk to Dan Cragin to be sure. The lowering caps are NOT the same. Gen 2-4 are interchangeable, Gen Vs are different.

Was more towards the line of thought of whether this for aesthetics, or is he tracking the car.

Gen 5 rotors will fit just fine on a gen 3/4 here are pics of the gen 5 TA setup I'm running on my 04. Calipers are the same 03-17 with the exception of the carbon ceramic brakes on the gen v acr and different color finishes throughout the years. Rear calipers need to be flipped right to left due to the caliper mounting location (inboard vs outboard).
