My Stoptech 380mm , 6 piston calipers for the ACR. These what should of came on the car from the factory. I wouldn't of mind paying an extra $3 grand for the car for it. My Gen V too..
I have Carbotech XP12 pads I'm going to use when I go out on the track. Thank's to Jon B @ Parts Rack. He's also in the process of getting new wheels for my Car .. Can't wait to go rip up some corners at the track..

Just curious- you didn't like the ACR stock brakes? did you try better pads,ss lines ,fluid?

Yes I tried different pads, fluids, lines etc..

Anyhow I have these Stoptech 6 piston BBKs on my 2010 Z06,and these brakes bite hard. Much harder compared to my stock ACR brakes .Bite harder , with improved linearity and doing it repeatably..
Laguna Seca is also a track very hard on the brakes, and this is both systems with the same Carbotech pads. I love these brakes. I can fly and brake a lot later before each corner with confidence.. The only other stock cars I've driven on the track with braking like this. Is my friends 2011 997 GT3RS,and my other friends Carbon Edition Z06. Which basically has the big ZR1 brakes..

Lee how do you think the ACRX setup would compare to this? Probably in between stock and this setup?

I am thinking about running the racingbrake front X setup with the bigger pads.

You are going to love the new binders. We put the same setup on our One Lap car and the braking difference is unbelievable. We also got some 19" wheels from Forgeline to make room for the brakes. The best part was we then got to go to a 325/30R19 Michelin tire. How do you say GOOD RIDDENS TO CORNER ENTRY PUSH? what a difference. Now all I have to do is gets some Hoozier R6's or slicks on the car. Unfortunately, I am doing the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge this summer and I don't want to try slicks as that would really screw up the feel I am developing with the car and street tires. In any case enjoy the new brakes you will be asking yourself, "Why didn't I do this sooner?"

I would also like to Thank Jon B. as he was a HUGE part in helping me get this setup on our One Lap car.

See you all at a race track soon.

Wonder if these will work on a Gen V?

Wonder if these will work on a Gen V?

Yes. Gen V has the same 4 piston calipers + brakes as the Gen 4 and the gen 3..

If I decide to keep my Gen V. Then I will also do the brake change..

Second track day with the 6 piston Stoptechs..

Ran the Speed Ventures track day event yesterday ( Red Group ).. Man these brakes don't skip a beat at all.. I'm running a semi aggressive pad. The Carbotech XP12s ( front and back). This is my second hard track day event with these brakes and lap after lap they just keep biting hard.. So consistent, and the brake pedal feel is rock solid through the whole day.. Ran some consistent lap times yesterday because of the confidence these brakes gave me..

I thought it was a 90 dB day? How are you escaping the meatball?

Nice! Gonna bring that bad boy to Sonoma next weekend? I'll be there 8/2 and 8/3. It'll be my first time at Sears Point, except for a few laps in an R8.

That is great! I never ran on that track.. Only their kart track... One of these days though..

Right now I really want concentrate on Laguna Seca .. The ACR is just incredible now,and want to shoot for a 1.41, 1.40 on my next outing.. It's always good to see you bro.. I hope you can make it out on my next Karting practice day at Marina, and drive the kart..

Racingbrake just released an affordable 380mm BBK option here:
http://driveviper.com/forums/threads/11538-380mm-Rotor-Kit-for-Viper-G3-4-5

Advantage:

1. Cost only fraction of a 6-pot caliper kit.
2. Retain your OE caliper, rotor hat, brake pad etc.
3. Can use ACR-X larger pad (D1001), with more friction area than OE and Stoptech 6pot caliper.
4. Rotor has wider annulus for extra thermal capacity to prevent from brake fade on tracks.
5. Brake pad shape is a very common and popular one, lots of compound to choose and very low cost to replace.
6. Rotor rings is a standard Brembo P/N.
