As some have noticed, there's a difference between the stock handbrake boot size and what Redline sends as a replacement. I shipped mine to them and they're trying to figure out why there's a discrepancy and if the size changed in some model years. I assumed all 92-02 GTS and RT/10s would be the same -- can anyone confirm that? This is the difference between the two http://imgur.com/a/n5r7h

What year is your car? I don't remember this issue on my '02 GTS.

Yes there is a year model difference. On the earlier one it went all the way up to cover the shiny metal part leaving only the handle grip part exposed. On later years it was shorted leaving the shiny metal part exposed. You have one of each now. I may have a brand new late style if you are still looking.

Mine (left in the picture) is from a 96 GTS. The one on the right is the one from Redline.
Thanks, Dave. The reason I'm asking is on behalf of Redline. They're going to duplicate mine and send it to me (the taller one), but they're trying to avoid this mixup in the future for others.
So it sounds like 92 at least through 96 used the taller one, and XX-02 used the shorter.

You can special order a taller boot from Redlinegoods. I did it because of my 98 GTS had just that tall boot.

The taller one should be for 92-98. In 99 they changed to the other gear knob (round) with the silver stick. So the smaller one should be for 99-02.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I'll let Redline know, so future orders from them should be correct.

Just to add: what I wrote is basically true for both shift AND handbrake boot.

Yeah, I had to get the extra length on mine as well (98). I hope they fixed the top of the boot on the shifter one. First one they sent was oval in shape and way to big. Second one was still to big (even after giving them the dimensions to use). I wound up making it work though. Real nice product but I wasn't impressed with their attention to detail with the opening for the shifter.

I was the guinea pig for these boots. I sent my 2001 RT/10 boots to Redline years ago. I did the instructions on their site for GEN II vipers.
