Heading to VIR in a little over a week and don't want to drive the Viper 6+ hours and put the miles on it. It's a GTS and no extra splitters or aero sticking down, just standard. The car is not lowered either. My question is do you think it will go on fine. The company said they've had Corvettes on them before but obviously not much experience with the Viper. Has anyone done it before? The last race I went to, there were quite a few (other cars) being transported this way. Also, in case something happens like a tire blowout or worse I'd like to have a way to get home. Any thoughts? I'm not quite to the point where I'm going full enclosed trailer yet. Thanks for the help.

Bleed-

I contacted UHaul recently to see if a Gen 5 would fit on a UHaul trailer. According to them it will. Not sure about an ACR but a regular Gen 5 will. When I called them for the reservation they asked me what I was hauling and what I would be using to tow the trailer, to confirm everything was kosher.

I helped a friend who trailered his vette on a Uhaul car hauler. From what I can recollect we had to unbolt the two steel plates (wheel stops) that stick up on the front of the trailer so that the front of the car's nose could roll over it without scraping. Once the car's front was over we bolted the stops back though the wheel well and then rolled the front wheels so they were touching the stops.

I don't imagine that the Viper would be much different front end wise but not sure if the rear tires are going to be too wide. I believe those trailers have a lip that stick up on the inner sides of where the wheels ride and I wouldn't want my tires resting on an edge.

Possible, yes, easy and safe, no. You will be using temporary boards and lifting means every where. The worst spot is approx a ft to the rear of the front wheels.

I had my gen III on a Uhaul trailer and did the exact same thing you mentioned about the wheel stops. No issues. The straps went on fine and it felt very safe and secure while towing. You WILL need some kind of ramp extensions because the ramp angle is too high. I used some race ramps I already had, but a couple wood planks will work just as well.

Yes it will work, but as others have said you will need boards/ramps and then need to remove the front wheel blocker load the car. If you search on here and the "other viper forum" you'll see some good info and pics.

Back it on to avoid messing with the wheels stops. Did it several times with my Z06. Had to tell Uhaul I was towing a civic because they wouldn't rent me a trailer to tow the Z. Worked like a champ.
