How do you keep the hardware from scratching the paint on the seats when threading them through the holes in the seat back?

I'd like to know too. I had to move the seat back forward to clear them and it was just too uncomfortable so I gave up. I wasn't worried so much about putting them through the holes as I was having the metal buckles rubbing on the plastic while on the track.

no one? With all the owners out there claiming its an easy install, obviously someone knows the process they went through for installation. Also do most of you just push them them casually to the side when using the factory 3 points? Or do you actually thread them through the holes again and leave them behind the seats?

....misunderstood question.

Leave them threaded through the seats and flip them behind the seat when not in use. Mine didn't scratch when I put them through. If you are that concerned, wrap them in blue tape before you thread them.

Just wrap the hard parts with some kitchen wraps before threading them through the holes, I do that for every track day and it does not scratch the seat back.

I take mine out after every track day. I'm not overly careful, as it's just a plastic insert in my seat, and not carbon. But I did order my harnesses with double adjustors on the sub straps, which are in the ASR harness, and one adjustor in the shoulder straps like the Rampacs, so there would only be one buckle to worry about in that spot. That one plate steel buckle on my shoulder straps doesn't seem to do much damage to my pass throughs. I have the seat all the way back when wearing them, and can get the buckle basically next to the mounting stud, out of the way.

Exactly the same. I eliminated the second adjuster on the shoulder straps and went to a single adjuster. They thread through the holes in the seat without damage if you are careful, and they don't hit the seat with it all the way back. With the double adjusters I had to move the seat forward an inch or two to keep the adjuster from hitting the seat. When I'm not on track I simply unclip the shoulder harness and take them out. I put the seat belts down by the sides of the seat out of the way. I just bought tabs to weld to the TeamTech crossbar under the seat so I can add eye bolts and will put clips on the crouch straps so I can snap them in and out. I have been leaving the straps in place and just pushing them forward between my legs - it was just too hard to unwrap them from the crossbar every time I wanted them out. I also had to put a small towel in the seat to keep the cam buckle on the crouch straps from marring the seat when not in use.

Does anyone have a pic of the new sub bar with provisions to clip the lap belts on?

I have the sub belts with the double adjustors. I let them all the way loose, tuck the crotch pad under the front of the seat, and lay the belts over the sides of the seats when not in use, in this position, the adjustors are off the seat bottom, and I'm not sitting on them.

My inserts are CF, but it still scratches a bit. I just fold the belts over the backrest and tuck them in. During the driving season I do a track day approx. every 3 weeks, so removing and reinstalling these belts would be a pita.

I reached out to a vendor on this forum to make a CF insert with wider openings, but they are still working on it.
