Came across this one today:

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/699509197/overview/

They said it is not a buyback. For anyone looking for a 2015 this seems like a good deal.

Called this morning. Carfax shows an odometer rollback of at least 7,000 miles. I'm not sure how to interpret that. However, I doubt 2 back to back dealers misread the odometer.

There is a backstory to this car for the price.

If this is the car I think it is it's actually a GT.

It's about 8 grand less than what I just paid for a 2015 SRT with similar options, although mine only has 5000 miles. Will be interesting to see the pictures. Would be nice if the carfax was free to see the history.

I just looked up the build sheet and it is a GT. It definitely has a story for that price.

Odometer roll back on a digital cluster?

Chances are someone fat-fingered the mileage input on a service visit.

I agree mileage discrepancy seems more likely an error. I also don't agree that it "definitely" is storied because a 14k mile GT is going for 70k.

On another note there should be a sticky "Good deal" thread as they appear often and usually spiral.

I'm local to this car if anyone needs me to check it out for them.

The way to check the miles would be to compare the odo with the ecu. I've heard of people buying a gauge cluster from a wrecked car with less miles to swap it out and roll it back. Hopefully it's just a typo though. Every car that has its side badging removed also makes me concerned. I know a lot of people like to remove these in the viper for purely aesthetic reasons but it always makes me raise a brow.

Side (or front) badging removal may be for application of Clearbra (preference to apply Clearbra below the badge). Not sure how that impacts valuation in a negative way.

It doesn't impact value IMO, it just makes me triple check for paint/body work and/or fender replacement.

Agreed.

I called the dealer yesterday evening, and I should hear back about this rollback this afternoon. The speculation is Suncoast Chrysler in Florida posted 1,001 miles and 7,810 miles 2 months after a mileage report of 8,021.

I bet it was user input error as well...most likely got '7810' backwards instead of 8710 and forgot a number with '1,001'.

Indeed.

The mileage was indeed fat fingered somewhere along the line and I suspect carfax. When you run the VIN in FCA's inquire all the service history reports so a corresponding upward trend.

Or not. I debadged mine as soon as I got it home.

Lots of times this comes from some dumbshit working at the DMV fat fingering it. Happened to one of my cars and trying to get it off the Carfax is a BITCH

Weird on this one. They emailed me and said it sold and now it shows up at a different autonation store in Arizona at the same price.

Being it is showing up on another Autonation site it could be the buyer is Arizona. Autonation ships cars between their dealers. A possible reason for this is they are shipping the car to the selling dealer in Arizona for customer pick up....but the website is all automated. All the website knows at this point is the car is being transferred.

At least this is how it happens when Dodge dealer trade cars sometimes between dealers. I would think Autonation probably uses a similar system inventory tracking system.

That would make sense if it was on the autonation site, but in this case it was reposted on cars.com too. I emailed them and they called me and told me it was available in Tempe. The mileage rollback is fixed on the Carfax now.
