Track rental today saw a 5th Gen set the 6spd record with a 9.34@151 on bottle only. Not bad. Owner name is Clayton. Impressive for a budget setup.

If this is bottle only, how big of a damn bottle?! That trap speed is on par for 950whp, no?

~950-980whp.

Here is a crappy video Clayton sent me.

I had helped Clayton set up his nitrous like my old TA. He used my same tuner, Ken Bjones at Palm beach dyno. Mods are Belanger headers, calvo catback, Mcleod clutch, Nitto NTO5R on factory wheels and a 400 shot. MPH is down due to bouncing off the rev limiter trying to cross the finish like.

Proven setup Paul. Definitely more in it if he had the tire you had on your car too. Time to rejet it!!

Thanks guys, This was the first time we have been to the track with this car. Took a few passes to get the 60ft down. I believe we can achieve an 8 sec pass with a little more power and practice...

Very nice run, a couple of questions:

1. What gear are going to use.

2. How did the Mcleod work, the reason I ask, i have a Mcleod and it held the slicks for one outing
They told me if you cannot get some wheel slip their clutch will not work. It actually has a smaller diameter and less clamp pressure than the oem clutch.

Depending on your window switch setting, be careful about hitting the limiter.

I wasn't planning on changing gearing. I need to repair the trans as now it is wrecked.... I have to hold the shifter in third or it will pop out and grind. I may change 5th gear to a closer ratio so the car will pull 5th. I'm hitting the limiter before traps and its killing ET and MPH.

Clutch has held fine, I do not slip it very much as you will see in the video once we get the good one sent. I left around 5500 and rapidly released clutch. This particular pass felt extremely strong pull through 1st.

You have enough power to pull 3.07's, that would be the best solution. Your mph puts you in a tough situation as far as gearing. NOS is a killer on transmissions. the increase in torque is disproportionate (greater) to the hp increase, again, very nice run.

//slightly off topic
Do you think the stock clutch at stock power levels would be fine with a NT05R?

OP: What size NT05R? I am thinking about getting a pair for the rear on my stock genV and try to snag a low 11.

Awesome! That is a nasty 60' especially for 19" wheels!!

400 shot.

DAMN that is a lot of go juice on a stock motor.

IIRC some guy ran a 500 shot in TX without blowing the motor. Think it was a street car that wasn't used at the track.

With a progressive setup, say 170 on launch and and 400 full later yeah I imagine it could survive. The question is for how long. Factory ring spacing would be my first guess for things to blow.

Time for Clay to consider a set of 3.07 gears?

Solid! That trap speed is hauling the mail! Time for a 9.0L + H/C to go along with that 400 shot and be the first Gen V NA in the 8's :D

You read my mind... We pulled the motor out of the car yesterday. While the motor was still fine on the 400 third gear was giving me some issues. While the tranny is out I decided randomly to build the shortblock with a head cam setup. We are shooting for an 8 sec pass with 19s and 6speed. Motor came out in about 3.5hrs. Super easy removal.

I think you're confused about what constitutes NA.

The white Viper Paul posted is a south Florida car as well. There is going to be some fast nitrous cars roaming the streets!!!
