They were having some issues with the car in the morning and only got 1 flyer in for qualifying. I think they are starting 5th now as 1st and 3rd were DQ'd. They said the car was much better during the night practice after qualifying so we'll see how they do. GTD is just a close as GTLM, lots of good battles this weekend.

There is a "Broadcast Now" button in the top right corner.
You'll need to setup a user account, then choose title with a category like under "auto & vehicles (http://www.livestream.com/guide/livetv?cid=1&lid=&sort=now&search_tag=)" or "sports & hobbies (http://www.livestream.com/guide/livetv?cid=8&lid=&sort=now&search_tag=)" or even "parties & events (http://www.livestream.com/guide/livetv?cid=17&lid=&sort=now&search_tag=)" and then start the streaming.
Then post the link here. :D

We are at the SRT VIP and it's awesome as both Vipers are very fast. Vettes terrible so far. The crowd is huge and weather really improved with warmer and sunny skies. It's amusing watching the Viper gt 3r going off the track a lot. The vette and SRT area is directly across from our RV and I must say the new ZO 6 is very stunning on display. Huge wreck just now and have to go.

Just got home. Did watch the Fox feed while at work. Don't tell. LOL

Anyway just got caught up on the parts I missed. If you haven't seen it or heard it, a Ferrari and a DP Corvette got absolutely destroyed. Memo Gidley and Matteo Malucelli were taken to local area hospitals. Matteo's Ferrari came to a roll down the short chute just before the turn 5 kink and was brutally smashed by Memo's DP from behind. Matteo has unknown back injuries and Memo had to be cut out and removed from his car. Not good, praying that there ok. :(

Anyway, IN VIPER NEWS, Marc and Jonathan did a double stint in the cars. Mostly left side tire changes. Pit stops are solid.

I just saw that also, mechanical issue last night?

Around 10:50 last night the #91 suffered a broken power steering line and the car had to be pulled behind the wall. It was replaced along with the brake pads.

Shortly there after, the #93's whole front end was replaced (hood and fascia) do to some sort of unknown collision.

However the #912 Porsche is currently behind the wall, so Viper is currently 5th and 6th, roughly 8 laps down to the leader.

The team remains positive. Dom and Kuno just set their fastest laps of the race so it seems like they got the ok to go WOT. Dom just pitted, four tires, fuel and Ryan hopped in.

Yes I believe so,

The No. 91 went to the garage with a power steering pressure line in the ninth hour, and is now 10 laps behind the class leader after repairs. Meanwhile the sister No. 93 lost five laps with front end damage in the tenth hour.

You are correct Randall.

#911 - Leader
#55 - -1 lap
#91 - -5 laps

There is some very heavy pit strategy going on. It is rumored that the #911 class leading Porsche CANNOT make it to the end on it's last stop and must come in for more fuel. SO there is still hope.

Horrible call. Cannot call an "avoidable contact" penalty, when there was no actual contact. :D

Bill Pemberton
01-27-2014, 11:44 AM
Ridiculous call and anyone who has ever raced door to door would take the inside line to protect a corner. Going to the outside often leaves little room upon exit and really questioned the thought
process of the Track Officials. They want close racing and yet are making dubious decisions that could affect the excitement of their events. Kind of hard to envision alot of Nascar involvement in
the Tudor United Sportscar Challenge, if tight racing will be so regulated. Thank goodness folks came to their senses and it seemed the reversal was only done as they would have a hard time
arguing the avoidable contact rule when none was made. If contact was made the ruling should have still been the same as the Ferrari straddled the curbing and there frankly was no where for him
to go anyway. Let's race and keep it exciting, and a big congrats go to Level 5 and Scott Tucker's group --- Midwestern Race Team out of Overland Park, Kansas!!

I have no idea what happened to the 93 car and why it needed crash repairs, we were all trying to figure it out. Never saw a replay of it. Maybe the bus stop?? I also don't know why the 91 got a stop and go late in the race. I don't think the penalty really mattered to much though.

On the 93 cars mechanical issues.... last year the cars had 2 starters due to the fact that push starting was not allowed. Rules changed and you are now allowed to push start to get back underway. They removed the extra starter for weight (25lbs) and went back to the single. Well when the lone starter failed this race they broke one of the drive shaft flanges repeatedly trying to push start the car. That's why it had to go behind the wall for repairs.

Gary Johnson remarked about cold tires on the out-laps, seemingly in reference to the misadventures of #93. Just wondering. It doesn't really matter, I guess.

I wonder if the Stop and Go penalty was for bumping off the LMP car on the first lap?

I doubt it, the stop and go was the last hour or 2 of the race IIRC. 91 had nowhere to go on the opening lap as they were 3 wide.

Yah, no kidding! That wasn't Goose's fault.

"Sleepless Near Seattle" is my life during Rolex, Sebring, and LeMans. While I missed SpeedTV 24 hours of coverage, Fox and Fox Sports did a great job. The commentating was terrific. Insightful, knowledgeable and timely microphones. I also applaud them for NOT replaying the "Big One" over and over and over...... once was enough, and then only limited recap footage after driver status was stable.

I did hear the announcer clearly comment on the 91 and 93 contact, that resulted in laps down overnight. But I never saw or heard any details on that.

Congrats to # 93, # 91, # 33 for finishing this beyond-grueling race....and for 'winning' the first half of it. Good Start SRT.

We do have about 30 Rolex pit-pix on our Facebook page: Jonb Partsrack

The race and performance by the Viper Teams was FANTASTIC! They really did a great job in the garage fixing the oil leak problem on the #91 Viper while others changed all 4 brake rotors and calipers. They all worked perfectly together. It was unbelievable! Congratulations to all 3 Viper teams along with Bill and Ralph. The Daytona track facilities have been GREATLY improved for the fans since I was last there about 10 years ago. It was an excellent weekend. Put this race on your list for next year!
